Job description

Data Analyst

Operations · Remote · Full-time

About Project αὐξάνω

Project αὐξάνω creates immersive, high-end transformation retreats for ambitious people.

As the company grows, there will be more guests, retreats, locations, vendors, campaigns, transactions, operational decisions, and moving parts.

We need someone who can look at all of that information and figure out what is actually happening.

Not someone who simply produces reports.

Someone who can find the signal inside the noise.

The Role

We're looking for a Data Analyst who can turn raw information into decisions.

You'll work across operational, guest, financial, commercial, and performance data to identify patterns, problems, opportunities, and risks.

You'll also conduct rapid audits when something doesn't look right.

If revenue drops, you should be able to investigate why.

If a retreat is underperforming, you should be able to find the contributing factors.

If one location is significantly outperforming another, you should be able to figure out what's different.

If the numbers look good but something underneath them doesn't, you should be willing to investigate.

This role sits close to the decision-making side of the business.

What You'll Analyze

Your work may include:

  • Retreat performance

  • Guest/member data

  • Bookings

  • Occupancy

  • Revenue

  • Costs

  • Profitability

  • Customer acquisition

  • Conversion rates

  • Marketing performance

  • Retention

  • Guest satisfaction

  • Survey data

  • Operational performance

  • Staff performance

  • Vendor performance

  • Location performance

  • Scheduling

  • Capacity

  • Forecasting

  • Pricing

  • Business performance

The exact scope will evolve as αὐξάνω grows.

Rapid Audits

A major part of the role will be being able to quickly investigate a question.

For example:

"Why did bookings drop this month?"

"Why is this retreat costing 18% more than expected?"

"Why is one location producing better results than another?"

"Where are we losing people in the booking process?"

"Why did customer acquisition costs increase?"

"Are we actually making money on this retreat?"

"What's different about our highest-performing guests?"

You should be able to take a question, locate the relevant data, investigate it quickly, and come back with a useful answer.

Not three weeks later.

The Job Isn't Just Reporting

We don't need someone who says:

"Revenue decreased 12%."

We need someone who asks:

"Why?"

And then keeps going until they understand it.

The ideal analyst can move from:

Data → Pattern → Cause → Insight → Recommendation

The ultimate question is:

What does this mean, and what should we do about it?Finding What Nobody Asked For

You shouldn't only analyze whatever someone hands you.

We want someone who notices things.

A number doesn't make sense.

A pattern repeats.

A location is behaving differently.

A cost is slowly increasing.

A particular guest segment is converting unusually well.

A process is creating unnecessary expense.

A metric looks healthy on the surface but doesn't tell the whole story.

You should be curious enough to investigate.

Business Impact

Data at αὐξάνω isn't academic.

It can influence decisions about:

  • Where we expand

  • Which retreats we run

  • How we price

  • Where we spend

  • Which vendors we use

  • How we allocate resources

  • Which acquisition channels we prioritize

  • How we improve the guest experience

  • How we structure operations

  • What needs to change

A great analyst can have a meaningful influence on whether a business grows or collapses.

That's the level of responsibility we want this person to understand.

Decision-Maker Partnership

You'll work with the company's decision-makers and should be comfortable communicating directly with them.

You won't simply hand over spreadsheets.

You should be able to explain:

What happened.

Why it happened.

What matters.

What doesn't.

What could happen next.

What you recommend doing about it.

And if the data contradicts an assumption, you should be comfortable saying so.

Technical Skills

Strong technical ability is expected.

Depending on the specific workflow, you'll work with tools such as:

  • Excel

  • Google Sheets

  • SQL

  • Python

  • Tableau

  • Power BI

  • Looker Studio

  • Data visualization tools

  • Statistical analysis tools

  • Dashboard systems

  • Database systems

  • APIs and data integrations

  • Analytics platforms

You don't necessarily need to be an expert in every tool listed.

You do need to be technically capable enough to work with data independently and learn new systems quickly.

AI & Automation

AI is increasingly becoming part of modern analytics.

You should be comfortable using AI to:

  • Accelerate analysis

  • Explore datasets

  • Identify patterns

  • Automate recurring reporting

  • Improve data workflows

  • Generate hypotheses

  • Build analytical tools

  • Reduce repetitive work

AI shouldn't replace your thinking.

It should make your thinking faster and more powerful.

Forecasting

You'll also help the business look forward.

Depending on the stage of the company, this may include forecasting:

  • Retreat demand

  • Revenue

  • Capacity

  • Staffing requirements

  • Costs

  • Location performance

  • Customer behavior

  • Operational requirements

We're interested in understanding not only what happened, but what may happen next.

Dashboards & Reporting

You'll help create reporting systems that make important information easy to understand.

Good reporting should allow leadership to quickly see:

  • What's working

  • What's not

  • What's changing

  • Where attention is needed

  • Where opportunities exist

  • Where risks are developing

The goal isn't to create dashboards that look impressive.

The goal is to create dashboards that help people make better decisions.

Required Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of relevant professional experience in data analytics, business analytics, operations analytics, finance, marketing analytics, hospitality analytics, or a related field.

  • Ability to work with both structured and unstructured information.

  • Strong problem-solving ability.

Education is not the primary qualification. Demonstrated analytical ability matters more.

Think of someone who approaches information the way a great trader approaches a market.

They're looking for changes.

They're looking for patterns.

They don't blindly follow the obvious signal.

They ask why.

And when something doesn't make sense, they investigate.

You should enjoy constantly improving your analytical ability.

That means staying current with:

  • Analytics

  • Data tools

  • Automation

  • Business strategy

The Difference Between Good and Exceptional

A mediocre Data Analyst tells you what happened.

A good analyst explains why it happened.

A great analyst shows you what is likely to happen next and what you should do about it.

An exceptional Data Analyst can become one of the people who materially determines whether a business grows or collapses.

They see problems before they're obvious.

They uncover opportunities nobody asked them to find.

They can audit a business rapidly.

They know when the numbers are telling the truth—and when the numbers are hiding something.

And they understand that data isn't the destination.

Better decisions are.

Compensation

$65,000–$90,000 USD annually

Final compensation will depend on experience, technical ability, analytical depth, and overall fit.

Exceptional candidates with advanced technical capabilities, strong business analytics experience, or high-growth company experience may command compensation above the posted range.

Location

Remote · Full-time

Meaningful working-hour overlap with the αὐξάνω team is required.

Travel may occasionally be required for company meetings, retreats, or operational work.

Who Should Apply

Apply if you're naturally curious about why things happen.

If you enjoy digging through information until you find the answer.

If numbers make you more curious rather than less.

If you can move quickly without becoming careless.

If you can challenge assumptions without creating unnecessary friction.

And if you want your analysis to actually influence the direction of a growing company.

We're not looking for someone to maintain spreadsheets.

We're looking for someone who can help us see the business more clearly.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
