As a Data Scientist Associate at JPMorganChase within Merchant Services Data & Analytics, you will execute analytics projects that generate payments insights and build intelligent solutions that improve payments performance and decision-making. You will partner closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to design and deliver end-to-end capabilities, including conversational assistants and workflow automation built with large language models and agent-based patterns.
Job responsibilities

Conceptualize and deliver analytics and automation solutions that improve business processes and client outcomes

Build payments insights that help merchants optimize authorization performance, chargebacks, and total cost of payments

Develop and maintain data pipelines, datasets, and dashboards using tools such as Snowflake, Python, SQL, and Tableau

Prototype and iterate on generative artificial intelligence features, including prompt design and refinement aligned to user needs

Design, execute, and document testing and evaluation to validate reliability, quality, and effectiveness of solutions

Monitor model and solution performance, identify enhancement opportunities, and implement updates to maintain relevance over time

Partner with data owners, data engineers, and business stakeholders to support development of data models and analytics methods

Support internal insights applications and external merchant insights experiences, including ad hoc client analytics requests
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics field (or related discipline)

Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in data analytics, data science, or a related role

Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, analysis, and development of repeatable workflows

Experience applying quantitative research methods and analytics to real business questions

Knowledge of machine learning and data science concepts, techniques, and common tooling

Experience working with large language models and agent-based artificial intelligence techniques

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with ability to translate goals into clear deliverables

Strong collaboration skills with the ability to build partnerships across product, engineering, and business teams
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

Experience with rapid prototyping and data application development using Tableau and Streamlit

Familiarity with Amazon Web Services and Snowflake for data management and analysis

Understanding of quality assurance practices and approaches that protect data integrity

Experience documenting analytic requirements and aligning stakeholders on scope and success measures

Attention to detail with a proven ability to learn new concepts and skills quickly.
