POSITION SUMMARY

BizIQ is seeking an experienced Interim HR Generalist to provide immediate, hands-on support to the HR team during a period of coverage gaps. This is a full-time, temporary, hybrid role based in our Phoenix, AZ office, ideal for a seasoned HR professional who can step in quickly with minimal ramp-up time and independently manage a broad mix of operational HR responsibilities.

The Interim HR Generalist will provide critical backfill support across HRIS data integrity, employee perks and recognition programs, offboarding, policy administration, payroll and HR service delivery. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment, can manage competing priorities across multiple functional areas, and is comfortable working with minimal oversight while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.

OBJECTIVES

  • Provide flexible support across active HR projects as priorities shift during the coverage period.

  • Conduct regular audits of HRIS and related systems to identify and correct data discrepancies.

  • Maintain accurate, well-organized employee records and HR files across systems.

  • Manage weekly loading and fulfillment of employee recognition/rewards program, including prize and gift card redemption.

  • Support employee recognition communications and postings across internal channels.

  • Execute offboarding checklists, coordinate equipment return, and process employee separations in HR systems.

  • Serve as a front-line responder for HR help desk tickets, triaging and resolving or escalating as needed.

  • Support review and updates to HR policies.

  • Assist in maintaining career pathing and development documentation for employees.

  • Provide administrative and coordination support for L&D initiatives and training logistics.

  • Research issues and bring forward thoughtful recommendations rather than simply escalating questions.

  • Maintain organized documentation, trackers, and HR records.

  • Identify opportunities to make HR processes more efficient and reliable.

  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to assist wherever the HR team needs additional support.

  • Assist with weekly payroll processing, data entry, and timecard audits to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.

  • 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Coordinator experience, including hands-on payroll processing.

  • Experience with Paylocity or another comprehensive HCM/payroll platform.

  • Experience supporting weekly payroll.

  • Experience supporting a multi-state workforce.

  • Multi-state HR compliance experience strongly preferred; prior experience supporting HRIS audits and employee recognition/rewards programs a plus.

  • Certifications: PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification is a plus but not required.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
