Turn complex healthcare data into decisions that matter

Are you the person people turn to when healthcare data gets complicated? Someone who can dig into complex datasets, understand how the data works, connect it back to the business, and turn it into analytics that leaders can actually use?

As a Senior Analyst, Health Data Analytics & Insights, you'll play a critical role in building Clarest Health's analytics capabilities, with an initial focus on Value-Based Care and PATH programs. You'll work hands-on with complex healthcare data, including claims and enrollment information, to uncover insights, build meaningful metrics and reporting, and help leaders understand what the data is telling us.

This isn't a role where you'll simply receive a reporting request, pull some numbers, and move on to the next ticket. You'll be expected to dig deeper. You'll learn how our data is structured, understand the business processes behind it, ask the right questions, identify opportunities, and turn complex information into analytics that can influence real business decisions.

What You'll Do

Become the expert on a complex healthcare data environment

Develop a deep understanding of Clarest's data structures, schemas, processes, and programs supporting Value-Based Care and PATH.
Learn how data flows from source systems through pipelines and transformations into analytical outputs.
Work with raw or prepared data to understand what is available, identify gaps, and determine how it can be used to answer business questions.
Become a trusted resource for stakeholders who need to understand, interpret, or apply our data.
Partner with Engineering and Data teams to understand data pipelines, resolve data quality issues, and ensure data is reliable and available for analytics.

Turn complex data into meaningful analytics

Write complex SQL to join, transform, aggregate, and analyze healthcare datasets.
Translate complex business requirements and logic into analytical datasets, metrics, reports, and insights.
Analyze claims, enrollment, eligibility, and other healthcare data to support Value-Based Care and business initiatives.
Develop and validate metrics and analytical outputs to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Build internal reporting, dashboards, and analytical products that help leaders understand performance and make informed decisions.
Apply critical thinking to identify trends, questions, gaps, and opportunities that may not be obvious from the initial request.
Partner with engineers as needed to develop and improve analytical solutions.

Partner with stakeholders and influence decisions

Build strong relationships across Product, Clinical, Operations, Engineering, and other areas of the business.
Ask thoughtful questions to understand business processes, requirements, and the "why" behind a request.
Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences.
Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
Bring forward options and recommendations rather than simply delivering exactly what was requested.
Help stakeholders understand not only what the data says, but what it means and what we should do about it.

Own meaningful analytics projects

Take ownership of reporting and analytics initiatives from initial discovery through delivery.
Support the execution of the analytics roadmap in partnership with Product, Clinical, and Operations.
Lead the design, development, validation, and continuous improvement of analytical products.
Contribute to data governance, metric definitions, documentation, and analytics standards.
Ensure analytical outputs are accurate, reliable, timely, and scalable.
Take on increasingly complex areas of responsibility as your knowledge of Clarest's data and business grows.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, or a related quantitative field.
3–5+ years of experience in data analytics, healthcare analytics, or a related field.
Strong hands-on SQL experience, including complex joins, CTEs, multi-step transformations, aggregations, and business logic.
Experience working directly with complex datasets and translating business requirements into analytical outputs.
Experience with healthcare claims data, enrollment/eligibility data, or similar healthcare datasets.
Understanding of healthcare data and how claims, provider, hospital, pharmacy, or other healthcare information is structured and used.
Experience with BI/visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar.
Experience with data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes.
Strong understanding of healthcare data standards such as HL7, NCPDP, claims data, or similar.
Value-Based Care, population health, payer, PBM, or healthcare cost/utilization analytics experience strongly preferred.
Experience with modern data stack tools such as Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, or similar, preferred.
Working knowledge of Python preferred; you don't need to be a Python expert, but you should be comfortable reading and understanding code.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly to senior stakeholders.
