Android Software Developer

Location: Portland, Oregon

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced QNX/Android Software Developer with strong expertise in Embedded C++, QNX/Linux, Android Automotive, and Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms. The role focuses on platform software, middleware, device drivers, multimedia, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and integrate software across QNX, Linux, and Android Automotive platforms.

  • Build platform services, middleware, native/framework components, and embedded applications using C/C++.

  • Develop Linux device drivers and hardware interfaces.

  • Perform Qualcomm Snapdragon platform bring-up and integration; 8295 experience preferred.

  • Develop and support multimedia applications and platform components.

  • Debug, optimize, and resolve issues across software and hardware layers.

  • Work with QNX Hypervisor, virtualization, Docker, and CI/CD environments.

  • Collaborate with DevOps, automation, validation, and cross-functional engineering teams.

  • Participate in design/code reviews and release activities.

  • Leverage AI-assisted software development tools where applicable.

Mandatory Skills

  • Strong C/C++ programming

  • QNX & Linux platform development

  • Android / Android Automotive

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon, preferably 8295

  • QNX Hypervisor & virtualization

  • Linux internals and device driver development

  • Multimedia development

  • SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO

  • Bootloader, Secure Boot, and Power Management

  • GDB, QNX Momentics, ADB, Logcat

  • Git/GitLab, Docker, CI/CD

Preferred Skills

  • CTS/VTS execution and debugging

  • Python scripting and test automation

  • AI-assisted development tools

  • Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence

  • Automotive, infotainment, transportation, or related embedded-domain experience

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Embedded Systems, or a related field.
