This position has been deemed critical by the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability Dean’s Office and is exempt from the hiring pause.

This position is based on Stanford’s main campus with consideration given to the option for a hybrid work schedule (3~5 days a week onsite), subject to operational need. Interested candidates must include a resume and cover letter to be considered for this position.

The Stanford Doerr Sustainability Career Studio (SCS) delivers career support to Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability students, to recent alumni and to sustainability-interested Stanford students. Through 1:1 advising, career workshops, employer and alumni engagement, and career pathway resources we help students define and pursue fulfilling, high-impact careers addressing the world's climate and sustainability challenges and opportunities. The Sustainability Career Studio seeks an Associate Director, AI and Data Analytics Product Manager to lead the strategic vision and implementation of an AI-enabled and data-centric career center. This position will report to the Founding Director of the Sustainability Career Studio.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Systems Design and Technical Product Management: Lead the strategic vision for the technical and operational infrastructure of an AI-enabled and data-centric career center. Evaluate, select, deploy and manage a portfolio of career services systems and tools including CRM systems, AI-enabled career services platform and tools, data analysis tools, alumni data collection processes, and email marketing tools. Ensure all AI and data solutions adhere to institutional policies, ethical AI principles, and security standards. Develop, track and report impact and engagement metrics of the systems and processes deployed. Stay current on best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in career development. Make recommendations for new programs or tools

  • Vendor Management: Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between university stakeholders, IT teams, and external software vendors. Manage vendor relationships, contract approval processes, stakeholder communications, development of project plans, budget and vendor payments

  • Operational Analysis and Management: Translate complex operational needs into actionable solutions applying emerging AI technologies to automate manual tasks and optimize operational efficiency

  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Own the tracking, maintenance and reporting of student and alumni employment outcomes data. Define and launch outcomes data collection processes. Supervise contractors hired to support tracking and maintenance of student and alumni employment data

  • Support the Career Studio's broader engagement analytics by helping advisors and program staff collect and interpret student, employer, and alumni engagement data to inform advising, programming, and outreach decisions.

  • Support employer-facing staff and Career Advisors with email campaigns, website content development, customized communications, and surveys

  • Lead the technical aspects of student onboarding with the Career Studio including the collection of resumes and student career preferences

  • Maintain the Career Studio's website infrastructure and platform integrations; own website performance and engagement analytics (traffic, content engagement) to inform content strategy.

  • Develop and facilitate workshops for Career Studio staff and students on AI tools and applications relevant to the job search process

  • Provide technical support, as needed, for implementation of career education workshops and employer events

Contribute to the development of the Sustainability Career Studio brand identity - its purpose, perception, personality, position, and promotion

In addition to the minimum qualifications listed below, our preferred requirements include:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management and business operations

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AI applications, machine learning tools, prompt engineering, AI guardrails, data modeling, privacy and governance practices

  • Demonstrated experience evaluating, selecting, and integrating third-party platforms and tools (e.g., CRM systems, AI-enabled services) into a cohesive technical ecosystem.

  • Experience owning data infrastructure end-to-end — from source systems through analytics and reporting — with a track record of using that infrastructure to inform organizational decisions.

  • Experience in technical product management, including designing and scaling systems architecture — from requirements gathering through deployment and iteration.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communications and written skills to bridge technical concepts for non-technical team members and stakeholders. Confidence in engaging with students, alumni and internal and external stakeholders and vendors

  • Commitment to the highest standards of customer service

  • Experience in higher education or similar

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with demonstrated ability to take initiative and ownership across a broad range of projects

  • High level of attention to detail and follow-through with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work successfully in a fast-paced environment

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting to develop dashboards, insights and recommendations.

  • Ability to own projects from start-to-finish, defining and executing business processes, and to evaluate new and improve existing projects and processes

  • Ability to manage differing interests of stakeholders and foster collaborative relationships

  • Strong presentation skills, including both development of high quality visual presentations and verbal presentation and facilitation skills

The expected pay range for this position is $120,000 to $155,000 per annum.

Core Duties :

  • Translate business processes into system requirements and/or development of systems solutions.

  • Analyze new business requirements, assist with feasibility of enhancement requests, system functionality, current system use and user needs.

  • Specify functional analysis and design and work with developers and analysts to recommend solutions and resolve system issues.

  • Review, research and evaluate software to determine its usefulness and appropriateness as related to existing or proposed business systems; assist or develop preliminary and detailed system design documentation.

  • Perform testing of new systems, upgrades and patching of existing systems; plan, conduct and document results of testing.

  • Develop instructional materials, training and job aids.

  • Advise users requiring assistance in solving complex problems or issues regarding management and business systems.

  • Analyze data and provide data sets to users for analysis. May include development of operational and analytical reports for end users.

  • Liaise with external vendors or partners in support of business systems, which may include system development, implementation and/or operations.

  • Coordinate the implementation of new or modified business systems.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and five years relevant experience or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Knowledge of computer system capabilities, business processes, and workflow.

  • Experience with enterprise applications and understanding of database driven applications.

  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle.

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques used in conducting management studies and in systems analysis.

  • Current knowledge of rapidly changing computer technology.

  • Skill in conducting interviews and facilitating group meetings.

  • Skill in developing and conducting training programs.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including the ability to bridge functional and technical resources by communicating effectively with individuals of varying systems expertise and business needs.

  • Strong listening, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to design and document complex business systems.

  • Proven problem solving and analytical thinking and ability to approach problems logically and systematically.
