About the role

Following our successful expansion into the U.S. and continued growth across Europe, we are seeking Clinical Data Engineers to help drive our Data function from our Austin hub. This person will build the pipelines and infrastructure that turn raw, messy clinical data into clean, structured, standards-compliant datasets Aika can learn from.

Who We're Looking For:

A data engineer who's comfortable with both the engineering and the clinical-data-standards side of the job. This person should be able to build pipelines that are technically solid and clinically correct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain data pipelines that ingest, clean, and structure clinical data at scale

  • Apply clinical data standards (CDISC SDTM/ADaM) within pipeline logic

  • Partner with Clinical Data Leads to translate domain requirements into engineering specs

  • Ensure data quality, validation, and monitoring are built into every pipeline

  • Debug and resolve data pipeline issues quickly and independently

  • Document pipeline logic clearly for the wider data team

Requirements

✅ Must-haves

  • 3+ years in data engineering, with real experience building production data pipelines

  • Strong SQL and Python skills

  • Familiarity with clinical or healthcare data (even if standards knowledge is still developing)

  • Comfortable working with cloud data warehouse environments (Snowflake or similar)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

✨ Nice-to-Haves

  • Direct experience with CDISC SDTM/ADaM

  • Experience with ETL/orchestration tooling (Airflow, dbt, or similar)

  • Exposure to healthtech or life sciences data environments

Why Join Us?

  • A dynamic work environment with an international team, where collaboration and diversity thrive.

  • Work alongside top talent, united by a shared purpose and committed to making a real impact.

  • Get equipped with a MacBook to enhance your productivity and work experience.

  • Benefits package designed to support you and your family's overall well-being.

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance options, effective from your start date or shortly thereafter depending on location.

  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility to balance your professional and personal life.

  • Company events to celebrate achievements and enjoy time together.

  • Our office is pet-friendly! You'll likely be greeted by a few wagging tails upon arrival.
