About The Opportunity

Smartly Technologies is adding a Data Engineer to its team supporting managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, software and web delivery, technical support, systems, data, projects, and customer service. The Data Engineer will design, build, test, and operate reliable data, analytics, AI, or software systems. The opening is full time, fully remote, and open to candidates throughout the United States.

What You'll Work On

Design and implement production-quality technical components, services, pipelines, models, or platform capabilities in the Data Engineer role at Smartly Technologies.
Translate requirements into technical designs, interfaces, tests, monitoring, and deployment plans as part of the Data Engineer role at Smartly Technologies.
Write, review, test, and maintain code or configuration using established engineering practices across managed IT and technical delivery in this Data Engineer position.
Investigate defects, reliability issues, performance problems, and data or model failures for the Smartly Technologies team as part of Data Engineer work.
Document architecture, operational procedures, dependencies, and important technical decisions while supporting managed IT and technical delivery in the Data Engineer role at Smartly Technologies.
Collaborate with engineering, data, product, and business partners to deliver measurable improvements as part of day-to-day Data Engineer responsibilities at Smartly Technologies.

Skills & Experience

Relevant engineering, data, or software experience with hands-on use of the technologies required by the position for the Data Engineer opening at Smartly Technologies.
Strong programming, debugging, testing, and technical problem-solving skills.
Experience with version control, cloud or platform services, data systems, CI/CD, or observability tools as applicable.
Ability to reason about reliability, scalability, data quality, security, and maintainability.
Clear technical communication and documentation skills.
A pre-employment background check is required.
