About Evolve

Evolve is a biosensing-driven adaptive training platform built for enterprise and high-performance use cases. We combine physiological signals, EEG, PPG, eye tracking, and behavioral data, with structured training programs to drive measurable performance, regulation, and cognitive outcomes in real-world deployment.

Role Summary

We are seeking a versatile, execution-focused Sr Full-Stack Developer to take immediate ownership of building, integrating, and hardening Evolve’s user-facing software ecosystem. While this role is heavily anchored in architecting and delivering our core frontend single-page application (SPA), you will also actively contribute to our Node.js backend pipelines, handle complex real-time data visualization charts, and take on light DevOps and QA responsibilities to stabilize our cloud infrastructure ahead of critical research pilots.

In this role, you will replace a legacy interface with a robust web application that acts as the primary command-and-control surface for operators deploying our neuro-technology platform in elite performance and research settings. You will bridge the gap between high-performance client-side charts, real-time backend streams, and reliable cloud deployments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build and Architect the Core Operator Web App (Frontend-Focused)

  • Consolidate separate legacy tools into a unified, high-performance single-page application (SPA) tailored for upcoming pilot deployments.

  • Implement and maintain role-based access control within a single app to serve multiple personas (e.g., operator, developer/admin).

  • Establish frontend development best practices

2. Implement High-Throughput Charting & Data Visualization

  • Architect and optimize real-time biometric signal trace charts (EEG, PPG, IMU) capable of rendering smoothly without dropping frames.

  • Design data-driven dashboards utilizing HTML5 Canvas, WebGL, or specialized high-performance charting libraries to graph active raw signals, composite physiological scores, and time-series frequency distributions.

  • Implement post-session reporting layouts that dynamically render HTML templates populated from processed assessment data (e.g., band ratios, stress scores, and autonomic performance scores).

3. Light DevOps & QA Operations

  • Cloud Infrastructure Upkeep: Audit and maintain existing Terraform repositories.

  • Observability: Instrument error logging and basic AWS-native monitoring to establish full data pipeline observability.

  • QA & Test Automation: Verify code coverage across repositories and implement functional testing harnesses (such as mock LSL stream generators or pre-recorded session playbacks) to validate real-time frontend features and backend APIs without requiring a live physical headset.

Experience & Background

Required

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience building complex, performance-critical web applications across the full stack.

  • Production mastery of

    React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS

    on the frontend.

  • Strong backend development experience with

    Node.js

    (Express/Fastify) and database exposure (

    Redis, InfluxDB, DynamoDB

    ).

  • Proven capability implementing high-performance client-side data charting and visualizations (Canvas, WebGL, or SVG-based charting primitives) handling continuous, low-latency data feeds.

  • Advanced experience with real-time browser technologies: Native WebSockets and binary serialization protocols (Protocol Buffers/Protobuf).

  • Familiarity with Docker Compose and local development.

Preferred

  • Background working with biometric/wearable datasets, IoT telemetry, or high-frequency time-series data pipelines.

  • Familiarity with Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) protocols or open-source neural data capture pipelines.

  • Experience implementing AWS Cognito for federated auth (Google SSO, JWT) and managing multi-tenant routing architectures.

  • Managing infrastructure as code using Terraform

  • Experience supporting engineering infrastructure for research pilots or enterprise deployment environments.

  • Alignment with a "spec-first" engineering workflow, building features out of persistent markdown technical requirement documents and defined acceptance criteria.

  • Experience in B2B SaaS or enterprise workflows.

  • Experience with complex data, healthcare, research, or device-connected products.

  • Experience building configuration-heavy applications and operational tools.
