Otogenetics Corporation is a licensed and accredited clinical laboratory for high complexity molecular and genetic testing. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to help own, maintain, secure, and modernize our IT infrastructure within a regulated healthcare environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Linux systems administration, virtualization, infrastructure management, networking, security operations, and technical documentation, along with the ability to work across both server and end-user environments.
A major focus of this role will be supporting the organization's information-security and compliance objectives. Prior experience in healthcare or another regulated environment, particularly involving HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, NIST, or comparable security frameworks, is highly valued.
This position requires someone capable of independently evaluating technical environments, identifying areas for improvement, implementing secure and maintainable solutions, and producing clear documentation and audit-ready evidence. Key Responsibilities for this role include:

Infrastructure & Systems: administer, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot Linux-based server environments; manage virtualized infrastructure; plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization projects; maintain backup systems; manage server and workstation hardware; develop and maintain appropriate monitoring, alerting, capacity-management, and system-health practices; automate repetitive tasks

Networking & Security: Maintain and improve network infrastructure; configure and administer firewalls, VPNs, network services

Vulnerability, Patch & Security Management: Manage vulnerability and system security; maintain effective patch-management processes

End-User & Identity Infrastructure: administer and support enterprise workstation and identity-management environments; manage domain services, endpoint configuration, device-management systems, and access controls; sales support, customer support and communicating with the lab and working in other areas as needed.

Compliance, Documentation & Audit Readiness: Translate security and compliance requirements into practical technical controls; Participate in HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2, and related security and compliance initiatives
Core Qualifications:

Significant professional experience administering Linux server environments.

Strong understanding of systems administration, networking, storage, permissions, services, logging, and troubleshooting.

Experience administering virtualized infrastructure.

Demonstrated experience managing production IT infrastructure and leading technical projects.

Solid network-administration skills, including firewalls, VPNs, routing, switching, DNS, and related network services.

Experience with vulnerability-management and patch-management programs.

Experience administering backup systems and performing restore testing.

Experience administering enterprise workstation, domain, identity, and endpoint-management environments.

Strong understanding of information-security principles and secure system administration.

Strong technical documentation skills.

Ability to troubleshoot complex problems across multiple layers of infrastructure.
Healthcare, Security & Compliance Experience Required
candidates should have meaningful experience working with regulated IT environments and security-control frameworks.
Preferred Experience

Healthcare, clinical, life-sciences, financial, or another regulated industry.

Practical familiarity with HIPAA security requirements.

Experience supporting HITRUST, SOC 2, NIST, ISO 27001, or comparable frameworks.

Participation in audits, security assessments, certification-readiness efforts, or control-remediation programs.

Experience gathering and maintaining technical evidence for auditors or assessors.

Understanding of the relationship between policies, technical controls, operational procedures, and audit evidence.

Direct experience supporting HITRUST or SOC 2 readiness, assessment, or certification is particularly valuable.
