Job description

About Vinoshipper We are a rapidly growing commerce platform for the beverage alcohol industry. Direct alcohol sales are tremendously complicated, with rules and taxes varying wildly between States. We are passionate about providing a modern platform for businesses to sell their products direct, in full compliance, with all federal, state, and local regulations by providing them with the tools they need to manage point of sale, e-commerce, club management, wholesale invoicing, state reporting, CRM, and integrations.

About the team Our engineering team is small, friendly, and fully remote (all in U.S. time zones). We favor well-tested languages and frameworks over new and exciting technologies, and because we work in a complex domain, clear communication and collaboration are key to our success.

About the role We are seeking an experienced iOS Developer to join our engineering team and work on Vinoshipper's iPhone and iPad Point-of-Sale application. You'll build and maintain the app, collaborating with our product and design teams to take features from concept through implementation and release, and with our backend team on API design and review. This role calls for someone who can work independently, manages their time well, and communicates clearly with the rest of the team.

About our app Our mobile app is a Point of Sale system used in tasting rooms and at events, built with Swift and SwiftUI for iPhone and iPad. The app integrates with Bluetooth card readers and Tap to Pay through Stripe Terminal, as well as receipt printers and cash drawers. It also handles product barcode and ID scanning, and keeps carts in sync across multiple devices. The project uses Xcode with Swift Package Manager for dependencies, and GitHub Actions and Fastlane for CI/CD. Our backend is Kotlin/Spring.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience building and shipping iOS applications, including hands-on experience with SwiftUI.

  • Experience working across the full lifecycle of a production mobile application, from design and implementation through release and ongoing maintenance.

  • Must be comfortable talking directly to end-users to get feedback and provide support.

  • Experience making technical decisions and taking ownership of their implementation.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or remotely, with strong time management and the ability to balance multiple active projects and tasks.

  • Comfortable using AI tools thoughtfully and helping build out their use where appropriate.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with the rest of the team.

  • Willingness to learn on the job and adapt as the software continues to evolve.
