Quality Assurance Engineer 4
opportunity in
Idaho
to support the
Los Alamos National Laboratory
.
Per diem: Available for those who qualify.
Location: Idaho

Schedule: 4/10 Schedule (OT,
if need arises)
Key Responsibilities Include

Guide the development, implementation, and improvement of quality assurance processes and procedures.

Provide senior-level QA expertise and technical leadership for complex quality activities.

Review engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and work documents for compliance with quality requirements.

Support vendor activities through quality planning, inspection, surveillance, and documentation.

Perform and support inspections, audits, and surveillance, with emphasis on welding and mechanical work.

Provide QA support for vendors and third-party suppliers, including documentation, specifications, inspections, and compliance.

Identify quality issues, corrective actions, process improvements, and risk-reduction opportunities.

Develop and maintain required quality documentation and records.

Work independently and exercise sound judgment in resolving complex quality issues.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, Industrial Systems Engineering, or a related field, and a minimum of 12 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Strong quality assurance background with hands-on inspection experience involving welding and mechanical activities.

Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, procedures, and technical documentation.

Advanced knowledge of quality assurance principles, processes, procedures, and standards.

Demonstrated ability to independently evaluate complex quality issues and develop effective solutions.

Demonstrated auditing and surveillance experience, including coordination across engineering, construction, quality, vendors, and other internal or external stakeholders.

Experience supporting vendor or third-party quality activities, including review and application of QA specifications and vendor quality requirements.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide technical guidance at multiple organizational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) certifications are preferred but not required
