The Bilingual Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's Food Safety and Quality Management System by ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, SQF, FSMA, customer requirements, and regulatory standards. The Quality Assurance Technician collaborates with cross-functional teams to promote a strong food safety culture, ensure product quality, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory and customer requirements. This position requires bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to effectively communicate food safety and quality expectations, conduct employee training, support documentation requirements, and collaborate with a diverse workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Review HACCP and plant records to ensure accurate and timely documentation.

Ensure compliance with all Food Safety and Quality Programs.

Conduct audits of production lines, allergen changeovers, labeling practices, and food safety requirements.

Maintain SQF, FSMA, regulatory, and quality documentation and records.

Administer the Product Hold and Release Program.

Follow and promote proper GMPs, company procedures, food safety requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements

Submit samples for microbiological testing and provide COAs and required customer documentation.

Assist with investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Inspect and approve new, modified, or repaired equipment before production use.

Train employees on HACCP, GMPs, allergen management, food defense, and related programs.

Support continuous improvement of the Food Safety and Quality Management System.

Provide backup support for QA personnel as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.

Bilingual in English and Spanish required.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with employees, management, customers, and regulatory personnel in both English and Spanish.

Ability to conduct employee training and communicate food safety and quality requirements to a diverse workforce.

2-5 years of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or food safety preferred.

Knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SQF, FSMA, allergen control, and food safety principles.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

HACCP, PCQI, or SQF certifications preferred.

This full-time position will be required to be onsite at our office in Chicago, IL.
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
