Senior ETL Consultant / Data Engineer (Business Intelligence & Analytics)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced

ETL Developer

to join the Business Intelligence & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise data integration solutions, ETL pipelines, data marts, and business intelligence reporting systems. This role requires strong SQL expertise, data engineering experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

ETL Development & Data Engineering

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance ETL processes and data pipelines to support business intelligence and analytics initiatives.

• Refactor legacy ETL code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.

• Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve data processing issues and production defects.

• Develop and maintain data marts, data warehouses, and data integration solutions.

• Build scalable and efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.

Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)

• Own assigned deliverables throughout the complete Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), from requirement gathering through production deployment and support.

• Participate in requirement analysis and contribute to business and technical solution design.

• Create and maintain technical documentation including:

• Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)

• Functional Specification Documents (FSDs)

• Technical Design Documents (TDDs)

• Testing and deployment documentation

• Coordinate approvals, code migration, deployment, and release management activities.

Data Quality & Testing

• Develop and execute:

• Unit Tests

• Integration Tests

• Performance Tests

• Ensure adherence to coding standards, development best practices, and quality guidelines.

• Identify, analyze, and mitigate data quality issues and business risks.

• Implement monitoring and validation processes to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

• Support development and maintenance of BI reports and dashboards using PLX and other reporting platforms.

• Deliver reporting solutions from design through deployment and post-production support.

• Partner with business users to understand reporting requirements and analytical needs.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

• Work closely with:

• Business Analysts

• Program Managers

• Data Engineers

• Developers

• Cross-functional vendor teams

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.

• Provide technical guidance and recommendations for data architecture and integration strategies.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Create and maintain detailed documentation using Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides).

• Document data models, pipeline designs, testing results, deployment activities, and support procedures.

• Ensure knowledge sharing and adherence to team standards and processes.

Production Support

• Provide ongoing support and enhancements for existing:

• Data Models

• Data Pipelines

• ETL Processes

• Data Marts

• BI Reports and Dashboards

• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures for production issues.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

Mandatory

• Strong experience delivering Business Intelligence and Analytics solutions.

• Advanced SQL expertise, including:

• Complex queries

• Performance optimization

• Data transformation

• Database tuning

• Experience developing ETL processes and data pipelines using ETL tools and programming languages.

• Experience with Databridge.

• Working knowledge of:

• BigQuery

• MySQL

• Relational Databases

• Large-Scale Distributed Systems

Preferred

• Python programming

• Shell scripting

• JavaScript

• Data modeling and database design

• Data warehouse architecture and implementation

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

• Proven years of experience in Data Engineering, ETL Development, or Business Intelligence projects.

• Strong understanding of ETL frameworks, data warehousing concepts, and BI solutions.

• Hands-on experience with SQL and database query optimization.

• Experience working with large datasets and distributed systems.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to identify, quantify, and communicate business risks related to data quality and compliance.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proven ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders
