Job description

As a Senior Product Manager you will help define, prioritize, and execute the roadmap for modernizing several of Aurora's product lines into a single, web-based, modern platform; and drive execution against it. You will work closely with a team that brings deep expertise in our legacy product lines to make the transformation real.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Help lead and manage the R&D product roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and long-term strategies.

  • Lead the discovery and exploration of emerging technologies and trends to identify new product opportunities.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management, a related field, or relevant experience.

  • 6+ years of experience in product management, with a focus on software products.

  • Technical background and understanding of software development processes.

  • Experience managing the product lifecycle from concept to launch.

What your impact will be:

Modernization strategy & roadmap

  • Help lead the strategy and execution to consolidate Aurora's product lines into one modern, web-based flagship platform.

  • Partner with leadership to define where modernization goes, why, and in what order, then turn that direction into an executable plan.

Partnering with legacy product expertise

  • Partner with tenured Product Managers and Engineers, drawing on their deep industry, customer, and legacy-product knowledge as a foundational input to the modernization strategy.

  • Bring a modern-product lens, championing what future customers will expect from a web-based experience as the platform evolves.

Roadmap execution & delivery alignment

  • Drive roadmap execution by turning the long-term vision into a practical, sequenced roadmap and moving quickly from planning to delivery.

  • Shape product decisions around web-first design, intuitive workflows, and evolving customer expectations.

Customer validation & design-partner strategy

  • Identify and cultivate design-partner relationships with municipalities to co-develop and validate modernization assumptions before broad rollout.

  • Lower adoption risk by validating with real customers early instead of relying on a high-risk “big reveal” launch.

AI-enabled product opportunities

  • Identify where AI can create meaningful functional efficiencies inside the product, from simplifying workflows to reducing manual effort and improving decision support.

  • Shape AI-enabled product capabilities that make Aurora's modern platform smarter, more efficient, and more valuable for customers over time.

What we are looking for:

  • Strategic, creative thinker who can shape product strategy while managing roadmap priorities, trade-offs, and execution details.

  • Decisive, driven operator comfortable challenging the status quo and moving quickly through ambiguity.

  • Skilled at building trust across experienced teams and translating deep institutional knowledge into a shared, forward-looking product vision.

  • AI-enabled mindset and enthusiasm for using AI to accelerate product thinking, planning, and execution.

  • Solid accounting fundamentals.

  • 6+ years of product management or strategy experience, ideally with platform modernization or legacy migration.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.

What would make you stand out:

  • Municipal industry experience.

  • Fund accounting knowledge.

  • Familiarity with GASB (Governmental Accounting Standards Board) principles.

  • Direct experience modernizing a legacy product into a modern, web-based platform.

Salary range: $60,000 - $70,000 USD per year.
