We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to support our growing accounting and finance function.

This position is ideal for someone with 2- years of accounting or bookkeeping experience who is comfortable working independently, enjoys keeping financial records organized and accurate, and wants the opportunity to expand their accounting knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain accounts payable processes, including reviewing bills, coding transactions, collecting appropriate documentation, and preparing items for payment.

  • Perform monthly billing for clinic clients. Prepare reports on uncollectible accounts for management.

  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Review daily financial and end-of-day reports for accuracy and investigate discrepancies.

  • Assist with month-end close, including transaction coding, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, and other adjusting entries as appropriate.

  • Manage asset listing and maintain depreciation schedule.

  • Identify opportunities to improve, standardize, and streamline accounting processes.

  • Maintain and update recurring accounting spreadsheets and financial reports.

  • Assist with production, salary, and other financial reviews as needed.

  • Assist with annual filings, audits, and special accounting projects.

  • Complete and provide support for biweekly payroll processing.

  • Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Manager.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance.

  • 2+ years of accounting experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, sorting/filtering, data organization, and working with financial spreadsheets. VLOOKUP and Pivot Table familiarity is a plus.

  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and recurring deadlines.

  • QuickBooks experience preferred.

  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to ask questions or escalate an issue.

  • Comfortable learning new systems and accounting processes.

  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles.
