Job description
Account Executive, Australia & New Zealand
Australian hospitality is shifting towards activity-led venues. Bowling, mini golf, darts, private karaoke rooms: operators are turning floor space into something for guests to do, because customers are drinking less and every square metre has to earn its keep.
Karaoke is one of the strongest options in that shift. It is among the most food and drink led activities an operator can add, it brings in a broader crowd than most, and a well-run room gets booked out. What most venues are still running it on is software and hardware from another era.
Singa is looking for an Account Executive to grow our business across Australia and New Zealand.
You will inherit a strong existing customer base, manage and expand some of our most important accounts in the region, and increasingly spend your time winning new venues and hospitality groups.
This is our first commercial hire on the ground in the region. If you are commercially driven, comfortable in a venue as well as on a sales call, and want a role with plenty of room to grow, we would like to hear from you.
Must haves:
-
Minimum 3-4 years of commercial experience selling to venues, hospitality groups, or similar multi-site businesses.
-
Proven track record of winning new customers and expanding existing accounts.
-
Confidence in running commercial conversations with owners, operators, and senior stakeholders.
-
Comfort taking ownership of a commercial territory without extensive local team support.
-
Genuine willingness and ability to travel extensively across Australia and New Zealand to meet customers in person.
-
Current residency in Australia with full working rights.
Helpful, but not required:
-
Experience in hospitality technology, entertainment, AV, music, or leisure concepts.
-
Experience working with hospitality groups or multi-site operators.
-
Experience selling subscription software.
-
Experience working with partner, reseller, or installer networks.
-
Knowledge of the New Zealand market.
-
Existing relationships within Australian hospitality or AV integration.
About the Role
Location:
Australia. Sydney or Melbourne preferred. Remote, with regular travel to customers.
Team:
B2B Sales
Reports to:
Global Team Lead, B2B
You will own a commercial territory across Australia and New Zealand, with two main priorities: winning new business and growing a focused portfolio of key accounts.
The role begins with our existing customers. That gives you the fastest way to understand how karaoke performs in the market, what our strongest venues look like and why customers choose Singa.
As you ramp up, the balance shifts increasingly towards new business.
You will have support around you. Outbound campaigns and sales sequences are built and run centrally, inbound demand is routed through an existing process, and our Customer Success team supports onboarding and ongoing customer success.
Your job is to turn that support into local commercial results.
You will also be close enough to the market to help us get better at selling into it: which venue types are worth targeting, what operators respond to, which objections keep appearing and what customers are asking for.
Direct outreach remains part of the role, but it is targeted rather than volume-driven. When there is a hospitality group, entertainment operator or venue worth having, you will often be the person starting the conversation.
How the role builds
Months 1โ2: Learn the market through the accounts we already have
-
Take over relationships with a focused group of larger venues and hospitality groups.
-
Understand why they chose Singa, how karaoke performs commercially for them and what distinguishes a strong site from an average one.
-
Join sales calls, onboardings and customer conversations with colleagues who have managed the market remotely.
Months 2โ4: Take commercial ownership
-
Begin running renewals, expansion conversations and business reviews across your accounts.
-
Start converting inbound opportunities and campaign-generated demand in the region.
-
Stay close enough to onboarding and implementation to understand what you are selling and what makes a successful launch.
Months 4โ6 and beyond: Shift towards new business
-
As you become established, most of your time moves towards opening new venues and hospitality groups.
-
That includes opportunities generated through campaigns and inbound demand, accounts you identify yourself with, trade shows, partnerships and time spent visiting customers.
-
Your key accounts remain yours, but on a rhythm that leaves new business as the primary growth focus.
What the work actually looks like
The account base in Australia and New Zealand looks like most hospitality markets: a relatively small number of larger groups where one commercial decision can influence several venues, and a long tail of independents. The larger groups are where most of your account management work is. Smaller venues are primarily served through our self-service products and support team, so you will not spend your week managing a long queue of small customer requests.
Once ramped, a realistic week might include two or three days focused on new business conversations and customer visits, one to two days working with existing key accounts and expansion opportunities, and the remaining time on sales handovers, events, partners and collaboration with the global team.
Travel is a genuine part of the role. Venues buy karaoke from people who have stood in their room, heard how it sounds and understand how the concept works operationally.
There is also a physical side to karaoke. We sell software, but a karaoke room often includes screens, speakers, microphones, mixers and sometimes acoustic or installation work. In our more established markets, local AV partners handle much of this. Australia and New Zealand are still developing that network, so you will help us identify strong local installers and integrators who can support customers in the region.
You will work with colleagues across Europe, so there will occasionally be early or late calls, balanced by a high degree of autonomy over how you organize your schedule locally.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Win new business across Australia and New Zealand, converting inbound and outreach campaign-generated demand while proactively opening hospitality groups, entertainment operators, and venues worth pursuing
-
Manage and grow a focused portfolio of key accounts, including renewals, commercial reviews, and expansion into additional venues
-
Build relationships with multiple stakeholders inside larger hospitality groups, reducing reliance on a single contact
-
Stay involved through onboarding and activation alongside Customer Success, ensuring a strong handover from sale to launch
-
Help identify and develop relationships with local AV installers and integration partners who can support Singa customers
-
Share market feedback with our GTM team to improve targeting, messaging, and campaigns in the region
-
Track account usage and engagement, and identify opportunities or risks within your customer base
-
Share customer and market insights with our commercial and product teams, including competitor activity, pricing feedback, and catalogue needs
-
Represent Singa at relevant hospitality, leisure, and entertainment industry events
What success looks like
By the end of your first year, we would expect you to have:
-
Renewed and grown the key accounts you inherited
-
Built a healthy pipeline of new hospitality groups and venues
-
Closed and launched new customers across the region
-
Developed strong relationships with the most important operators in your territory
-
Helped establish at least one reliable local AV partner
-
Contributed market insight that has improved how Singa targets and sells into Australia and New Zealand
Why Singa
-
A region with an established customer base and significant room to grow
-
A role where new business is the core growth mandate, without starting from zero
-
Established support behind you: centrally managed outbound campaigns, inbound routing, onboarding playbooks and a Customer Success team
-
Direct access to the commercial leadership of a company small enough for decisions to happen quickly
-
A high degree of autonomy in how you manage your territory and customer relationships
-
Travel budget for customer visits and industry events
-
Regular collaboration with Singa's global team
-
A product people are visibly happy to use. Karaoke is a good thing to sell.
-
Competitive base salary plus performance-based variable compensation
-
Revenue targets and the incentive plan will be clearly defined before you accept an offer, with goals covering both new business and growth within key accounts.
-
As the region grows, the scope of the role can grow with it โ through larger strategic accounts, more complex group opportunities, and broader commercial responsibility.
