The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on and commercially minded Accountant to join our Brisbane team.

This is more than a traditional accounting role. You will work closely with the CFO and operational teams, supporting both the finance function and broader business operations.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being involved in the detail, takes ownership of their responsibilities and is confident and accountable for the accuracy and quality of their own work.

You will work across financial reporting, month-end, compliance, payroll, budgeting and day-to-day operational support, while helping improve processes and provide financial insights that support the business.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well as part of a team and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get things done.

What You'll Be Doing

• Daily bank and credit card reconciliations

• Month-end close, journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations

• Monthly management reporting and financial analysis

• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow support

• Accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting support

• Payroll and statutory reporting support

• Fixed asset register and reconciliations

• Fleet administration including tolls, fines and infringements

• Business partnering and supporting operations

• Working closely with the CFO on finance, commercial and operational matters

• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting

• Supporting ad hoc finance and operational requirements when needed

About You

You are someone who is:

• Hands-on and highly detail-oriented

• Confident in your accounting knowledge

• Accountable and takes ownership of your own work, accuracy and deadlines

• Proactive and follows tasks through to completion

• A genuine team player who is willing to help where needed

• Comfortable working across both management accounting and day-to-day transactional finance

• Organised and able to manage competing priorities

• Confident communicating with finance and non-finance teams

• Practical, approachable and solutions-focused

• Comfortable working independently while being part of a collaborative team

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 4+ years' accounting experience

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline

• Strong month-end, general ledger and balance sheet reconciliation experience

• Strong Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience with Xero or similar accounting software

• CA/CPA qualified or working towards qualification will be well regarded
