Holiday Inn Downtown, Shreveport are seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Accounting team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for assist financial Controller to ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial health. Your expertise will help maintain accurate financial data, facilitate audits, and contribute to strategic decision-making. Duties

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using financial software such as Workday, Paychex, ADP, Kronos, UltiPro, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, and QuickBooks.

Conduct detailed account analysis and perform month-end closing activities including account reconciliation and financial statement preparation.

Support internal controls and compliance procedures related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements.

Assist with governmental accounting tasks and non-profit accounting functions as needed.

Handle data entry tasks with precision using 10-key typing skills while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, tax preparation, and financial reporting projects to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Skills

Strong understanding of GAAP standards and experience with technical accounting principles.

Proficiency in various accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP, Workday, Paychex, and other financial software platforms.

Expertise in account reconciliation, balance sheet management, journal entries, double-entry bookkeeping, and general ledger accounting.

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data through Excel data analysis and spreadsheet management.

Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and non-profit accounting is a plus.

Familiarity with payroll processing systems like ADP or Kronos along with experience handling confidential information securely.

Strong numeracy skills combined with attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping and account analysis.

Effective communication skills for customer service interactions related to accounts receivable/payable inquiries.

Ability to perform complex math calculations including credit analysis and budgeting tasks confidently.
