Duties

Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger management, journal entries, and account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry best practices
Conduct detailed financial analysis using Excel data analysis tools such as pivot tables and spreadsheets to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements
Manage trade settlement processes and ensure timely execution of transactions within fixed income financial markets
Support regulatory reporting requirements by preparing accurate documentation aligned with securities law and financial regulatory compliance standards
Assist in cash management activities, including monitoring liquidity levels, forecasting cash flows, and optimizing banking relationships
Collaborate with internal teams on business operations, internal communication, and client service initiatives to enhance overall efficiency
Utilize financial software and SQL databases to extract data for analysis, reporting, and audit purposes while maintaining data integrity

Qualifications

Proven experience in accounting and finance roles within the financial services or investment management industry
Strong understanding of financial concepts such as securities law, financial regulation compliance, trade settlement, and corporate accounting
Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP, technical accounting standards, and industry regulations governing banking and investment activities
Experience with public accounting or internal audit functions is highly desirable
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (including pivot tables) and spreadsheets for data analysis
Familiarity with financial software systems, SQL databases, and regulatory reporting tools
Excellent internal communication skills paired with customer service orientation to effectively liaise across teams and with clients
Ability to analyze complex financial data accurately while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
Strong business operations acumen combined with leadership qualities to support team initiatives
