Position Objective
The Accounting Clerk is an entry-level position within the Accounting department, with primary responsibility for Accounts Payable and supporting coverage across Accounts Receivable and Royalty functions. This role performs a range of data entry, reconciliation, and administrative tasks that support the accuracy and efficiency of the department's day-to-day operations.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Data Entry

Process Accounts Payable transactions, including reviewing work-for-hire contracts and ensuring payment accuracy.

Perform daily data entry into accounting software and/or the corporate database.

Maintain accurate information in the accounting system and master lists.
Accounts Receivable & Royalties Support

Provide coverage and task support across Accounts Receivable and Royalty functions as assigned.

Assist the accounting team with overflow AP, AR, and royalty-related tasks.
Reconciliation & Administrative

Investigate and assist with the resolution of discrepancies as assigned.

Track and reconcile expenses for internal reporting.

File accounting documents in a timely and organized manner.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Required
-
1 year of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, or a related administrative role.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work independently in a time-sensitive environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Organized, self-motivated, and capable of problem-solving with minimal direction.

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Ability to work effectively with outside vendors, creators, and editors, maintaining a professional attitude with a wide range of personalities.

Effective oral and written communication skills.
Preferred
-
Associate degree or certificate in Accounting or Finance.

Knowledge of accounting principles.

Strong working knowledge of Mac OS.
Due to the confidential nature of the material handled, the individual is required to maintain information in such a manner that it does not become available to any Dark Horse personnel including non-supervisory accounting personnel.
