** About the Role:**
The Accounting Clerk plays a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity and accuracy of our non-durable goods manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely, supporting the overall accounting team in managing accounts payable, bank reconciliations, and job costing activities. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of the accounting department by processing invoices, preparing journal entries, and assisting with accruals and account reconciliations. By working closely with various departments, the Accounting Clerk helps to provide clear and accurate financial data that supports decision-making and operational efficiency. Ultimately, this role ensures compliance with company policies and accounting standards, fostering a reliable financial environment within the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.

Proven experience in bank reconciliation, accounts payable, and invoice processing.

Basic understanding of accounting principles and job costing in a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately under deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in the non-durable goods manufacturing industry.

Familiarity with ERP systems used in manufacturing accounting.

Additional coursework or certification in accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.

Experience with accrual accounting and preparing journal entries.
Responsibilities:

Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy between bank statements and company records.

Process and verify invoices for payment, ensuring proper coding and approval according to company policies.

Manage accounts payable activities, including timely payment processing and vendor communication.

Assist in job costing by tracking and allocating manufacturing costs accurately to respective projects or products.

Prepare and post journal entries related to accruals, adjustments, and other accounting transactions.

Reconcile various accounts regularly to maintain accurate financial records and identify discrepancies.

Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to support month-end and year-end closing processes.

Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting documentation and records for audit readiness.
