Staff Accountant

ASO Roofing Supply – Houston, TX

Full-Time | On-Site

Salary: $55,000–$70,000 depending on experience

ASO Roofing Supply is looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team.

We are a growing roofing and building materials distributor with multiple locations in the Houston area. We recently implemented a new ERP system and are looking for someone who can take ownership of our day-to-day accounting, cash management and reconciliation work.

This position will work directly with the CEO and our accounting and operations teams. It's a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants to learn the financial side of a growing business and take on more responsibility over time.

What You'll Be Doing

Daily bank and cash reconciliations
Reconcile customer payments and bank deposits
Reconcile cash, checks, Zelle/ACH and credit card payments
Reconcile credit card and merchant processing batches
Review undeposited funds and clearing accounts
Review transactions between our ERP system and QuickBooks Online
Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable
Bank and credit card reconciliations
Assist with inventory reconciliations
Assist with month-end close
Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
Help improve and document accounting processes as we grow

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
1–3 years of accounting experience preferred
Good understanding of accounting fundamentals
QuickBooks Online experience is a plus
Strong Excel skills
Detail-oriented and organized
Good problem-solving skills
Comfortable learning new systems
Someone who takes ownership of their work and follows through
Someone who is willing to ask questions, learn the business and figure out why something doesn't tie

Experience with inventory, distribution, construction, building materials or ERP systems is a plus, but not required.
