Position Overview
Medical Essential Diagnostics is seeking a motivated Staff Accountant with one to two years of professional
accounting experience. This position is ideal for an early-career accountant who wants to expand their skills,
take ownership of key financial functions, and grow into a future accounting leadership role.
The Staff Accountant will support financial reporting, payroll, accounts payable, vendor management, bank
account reconciliation, reimbursements, and expense tracking.
This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who is analytical, dependable, detail-oriented, and interested
in long-term professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
β Maintain accurate financial records and record daily transactions.
β Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, payroll records, and general-ledger accounts.
β Process payroll, bonuses, reimbursements, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
β Verify payroll reports and confirm applicable payroll taxes and deductions are processed.
β Manage accounts payable, vendor invoices, check requests, and payment schedules.
β Maintain vendor records and communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments, credits, and
discrepancies..
β Review and process employee reimbursements and business expenses.
β Maintain expense spreadsheets and supporting documentation.
β Monitor bank transactions and assist with disputes or unusual activity.
β Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow reporting, and budget-to-actual analysis.
β Identify financial discrepancies and work independently to resolve them.
β Improve accounting processes, spreadsheets, procedures, and internal controls.
β Coordinate with management, employees, vendors, payroll providers, and banks.
β Support additional accounting and financial projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
β Bachelorβs degree in Accounting is required.
β One to two years of professional accounting experience.
β Previous experience in a role where accounting was a primary responsibility.
β Experience with payroll processing and payroll reconciliation.
β Experience with vendor management and vendor payments.
β Experience reconciling bank and credit-card accounts.
β Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
β Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
β Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple accounting responsibilities.
β Strong written and verbal communication skills.
β Ability to handle confidential financial information professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
β ADP payroll experience.
β Experience with accounts payable.
β Experience in a multi-location or multi-entity organization.
β Experience with budgeting
β Experience improving accounting procedures or financial reporting tools.
β Understanding of payroll taxes and basic tax-related accounting requirements.
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
