Job description:

VSA Inc., one of the largest AV Broadcast Dealers in the country, is urgently hiring for an Accounting Specialist . You will oversee the day-to day operations of the office including handling facilities management, procuring office supplies, ensuring the smooth running of the office and maintaining administrative systems and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee yearly employee benefits renewal
Identify and control business risks and insurance requirements overseeing yearly property/casualty insurance renewal and insurance audits
Point of contact for all IT needs, issues and solutions
Oversee and manage financial IT systems ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory entities
Select, implement and maintain accounting software and supporting applications; ensure they are relevant, effective and current
Backup the Controller by performing general accounting duties as needed including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger
Knowledge of state sales and use tax laws, maintain and update sales tax data and tax codes in the invoicing system as needed
Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly sales tax returns and renew sales tax licenses
Responsible for OSHA reporting, new employee on boarding and garnishments
Responsible for maintaining customer accounts and collecting receivables

Requirements:

Detail oriented and excellent communication skills, written and oral
Ability to work independently
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate on all levels
Must have solid computer knowledge, Windows and Microsoft Office proficiency
Good team player and strong organizational skills
Must be able to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously
Must have 5 years of Accounting experience
