Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cloud Engineer to join our team and drive the development and stability of our cloud platforms.
Responsibilities of the Role:

Develop Infrastructure as Code to automate infrastructure provisioning, shifting security and compliance left.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with stakeholders, including developers and platform teams to gather requirements and prioritize features.

Backlog Management: Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring alignment with customer needs.

Monitoring: Monitor infrastructure performance, user feedback, and key metrics to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Design a secure Cloud Foundation, repeatable cloud patterns, templates, and/or accelerators to enable faster adoption of cloud services.

Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of cloud compute platform.

Provide technical mentoring and knowledge transfer to other Technology resources.

Build a strong relationship and rapport with key stakeholders, including developers.

Architecture & Design: Reviewing and Designing solutions that satisfy customer requirements. Recognize patterns and build reuseable Modules to be consumed to speed delivery. Ensure that modules we build and support meet our security and compliance standards provides flexibility and integration with current and future technology standards

Cloud Deployment: Designing, deploying, and managing secure, scalable, and high-performance infrastructures within AWS focusing on cloud-native applications.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Utilizing automated tools (IaC) rather than manual configuration to deploy, manage, and "shift-left" security, embedding guardrails and compliance directly into templates.

Security Controls: Implementing Identity and Access Management (IAM), encryption, network security controls, and configuring security measures for data in hybrid/public environments.

Compliance & Risk: Enforcing compliance, conducting vulnerability management, and performing penetration testing to protect digital assets.

Optimization: Optimizing performance and managing cloud costs through efficient infrastructure design.

System Administration: Planning and administering operating system capabilities and maintaining cloud infrastructure.

Troubleshooting: Developing and debugging software programs for enhancements, troubleshooting, and patching systems.
-
Automation: Using scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) to automate tasks and improve infrastructure resilience.
Requirements of the Role:
-
Minimum of 2 years of experience in AWS cloud technologies and architecture.
-
Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud technologies and architecture is preferred but not required, supporting the organization’s expansion to a multi-cloud environment.

4+ years experience infrastructure engineering.
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
-
Passionate about identifying and solving problems for customers and constantly improving customer experience. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are a must.

The ability to collaborate in a distributed team environment is critical, as well as leading cross-functional meetings to efficiently drive desirable outcomes.

Expertise and understanding of Agile and DevOps operating model.
-
Experience in transforming legacy applications to cloud native architectures.
-
Skills: Good understanding of cloud solutions, architecture concepts, automation technologies, and market trends. Proficiency in agile methodologies and tools.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
-
Hands-on experience and proficiency with Terraform Infrastructure as Code
-
Experience with Bitbucket Pipelines or similar CI/CD toolchain
-
Proficient in Python
-
Knowledge in Ansible configuration management (strongly preferred)
-
Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2, EKS, ALB/ELB, Security Groups, Firewall Manager, WAF, S3, Lambda, IAM.

Familiarity with comparable Microsoft Azure services, governance, security, and infrastructure automation is a plus.

Works on assignments of moderate scope and complexity where initiative and independent judgment is required to search out appropriate courses of action

Uses concepts and abilities of the skill and the Firm’s internal policies and procedures to complete assignments and solve problems

Technical Leadership: Provide hands-on technical expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing AWS infrastructure solutions.
