AI Applications & Cloud Engineer
Guyot Holdings, LLC
Job description
About Limestone
Input problems, output solutions.
Limestone Technology Group builds AI-enabled applications and automation systems for real operational work. We help private businesses, state and local government, and regulated organizations improve the way work actually gets done โ through custom applications, AI agents, workflow automation, integrations, cloud infrastructure, and managed operations.
We don't stop at the prototype. We map how the work happens, redesign the process, apply AI to the repetitive and information-heavy parts, build the software around the improved workflow, and then host, monitor, and continuously improve it in production. Our work is practical, production-focused, and measured by outcomes.
The Role
We're hiring a senior, hands-on Principal AI Applications & Cloud Engineer to build and operate AI-powered applications, agentic automation systems, integrations, and the AWS infrastructure underneath them.
You'll work across full-stack product development, AI agent design, cloud operations, and customer delivery. This is an early technical leadership role: you'll help define the engineering foundation of a growing AI automation company while shipping systems that solve real problems for real customers, usually in weeks rather than quarters.
What You'll Do
-
Build full-stack web applications, customer portals, internal tools, dashboards, APIs, and integrations
-
Design and implement AI agents and automation workflows that retrieve information, call tools, update systems, create tasks, draft responses, and route work for human approval
-
Build document-processing, knowledge-access, case-management, and decision-support solutions
-
Design the human-in-the-loop boundary deliberately โ what AI may complete, what it prepares for approval, what stays fully human โ with permissions, source evidence, audit history, and fallback behavior built in
-
Design, deploy, secure, and operate AWS infrastructure for production workloads, including multi-tenant deployments and isolated per-customer environments where a security review calls for it
-
Integrate with CRMs, finance systems, communication platforms, file storage, and legacy line-of-business systems, including the ugly ones
-
Establish the engineering practices that make managed operations sustainable: source control, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, logging, backups, and documentation
-
Work directly with leadership and customers to understand workflows, find the bottlenecks, and translate operational needs into production-ready systems
-
Support customer security reviews and questionnaires
-
Evaluate emerging AI tools, models, agent frameworks, and cloud services on real customer value, reliability, security, and cost
Qualifications
-
Significant experience building and supporting production web applications, not just prototypes
-
Strong full-stack development: modern frontend frameworks, backend services, APIs, databases, authentication, and integrations
-
Hands-on AWS experience deploying and operating cloud-hosted applications
-
Production experience with LLM APIs, AI agents, tool calling, retrieval, document processing, or related AI application patterns โ including the unglamorous parts: error handling, cost, latency, and evaluation
-
Working understanding of secure system design, access controls, logging, monitoring, and production operations
-
Ability to work independently, communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders, and make sound technical decisions without a committee
-
A practical, product-minded approach to solving customer problems
-
Able to pass a background check; some customer environments require it
Preferred Experience
-
AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, API Gateway, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and Bedrock
-
Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK, or CloudFormation) and containerized deployments
-
AI agent orchestration, human-in-the-loop workflows, evaluations, guardrails, or AI observability
-
Serving government, healthcare, finance, legal, or other regulated organizations; exposure to CJIS, HIPAA, StateRAMP, or SOC 2 requirements
-
Integrating legacy systems and untangling high-friction operational workflows
-
SaaS products, managed services, or multi-tenant application architecture
-
SSO/SAML/OIDC integration
Why Limestone
This is not a generic software development role. You'll build the applications, AI systems, and cloud platforms that help organizations cut manual work, improve visibility, and operate more effectively โ and you'll stay close enough to the customer to see whether it worked.
The people who do well here would rather ship a working pilot in three weeks than a perfect design document in three months. We keep scope tight, we own what we build all the way into production, and everyone wears more than one hat. If you've been frustrated watching good software take two years to reach the people who needed it, we're building the opposite of that.
You'll have meaningful technical ownership, a flexible outcome-focused work environment, and an uncapped incentive opportunity tied to the company's growth.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Maryville, TN 37804
