Overview:

This is a full-time, in-person position at MINT's headquarters in downtown Dallas, TX.

The Analytics Engineer will report to the VP of Data and Analytics and will assist in turning raw data into valuable information that can be utilized to make decisions and streamline business processes. The ideal candidate will be able to function effectively with limited oversight and a methodical attention to detail. The work will involve communicating with stakeholders, building dimensional data models and analytical reports with dbt (SQL), building automated dashboards, and investigating and fixing any errors.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather requirements from stakeholders

  • Build dimensional data models and analytical report tables in our data warehouse (BigQuery) using dbt

  • Build and maintain automated dashboards in Looker Studio

  • Maintain the reference data tables used by our dashboards

  • Run routine analytical reports to support various business functions

  • Run ad hoc reports for the executives and other stakeholders, as needed

  • Communicate the results of data analyses in written and verbal form to executives and other stakeholders

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 2 or more years of work experience as a Data Analyst, Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or similar role

  • Familiarity with one or more of the major Cloud Platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)

  • Extensive experience writing complex analytical SQL queries

  • Extensive experience building dashboards in any BI visualization tool (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)

  • A strong understanding of formal logic, set theory, probability, statistics, and other fields of mathematics that form the foundation of SQL programming and data analysis

  • A strong understanding of relational data modeling (3NF and dimensional)

  • Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Analytics/Science, Mathematics, or a similar field

  • Experience working with the tools in our data stack (BigQuery, dbt, Looker Studio)

  • Experience writing Python scripts for data ingestion and/or transformation (pandas, polars, DuckDB, etc.)
