Summary

Andersen is hiring an Android Developer in Tbilisi for a project developing a modern mobile banking application and delivering secure, scalable digital financial services.

The customer is a leading financial institution serving retail and corporate clients with a strong focus on digital banking. The company operates a large-scale digital ecosystem with millions of active users and invests in modern IT architecture, cloud-ready infrastructure, data-driven solutions, and AI-powered services to ensure scalability, innovation, and seamless customer experience.

The project is focused on developing and enhancing a modern banking application that provides customers with secure and convenient access to financial services. It aims to streamline everyday banking operations, improve the digital customer experience, and ensure reliable and scalable delivery of banking services.

Responsibilities

  • Developing, maintaining, and enhancing native Android applications using Kotlin and Android SDK, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.

  • Designing and implementing robust mobile application architectures following MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture principles, leveraging Jetpack components such as Compose, ViewModel, Navigation, Room, and WorkManager.

  • Integrating and maintaining RESTful APIs and GraphQL services using Retrofit, OkHttp, and modern JSON serialization libraries to ensure seamless communication with backend systems.

  • Implementing asynchronous data processing and lifecycle-aware state management using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow to deliver responsive and stable user experiences.

  • Building and optimizing local data storage solutions using Room, SQLite, and DataStore, supporting offline-first functionality and efficient data synchronization.

  • Ensuring software quality through comprehensive unit, integration, and UI testing, while contributing to CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, and Agile development processes.

  • Applying Android security best practices, including secure data storage, certificate pinning, and protection of sensitive information, while monitoring and optimizing application performance using profiling and diagnostic tools.

Requirements

  • Professional experience developing native Android applications for 4+ years.

  • Expert proficiency in Kotlin (and solid working knowledge of Java) for Android development.

  • Strong knowledge of modern Android/Jetpack architecture, including Jetpack Compose, ViewModel and lifecycle-aware state management; experience with relevant Jetpack components such as Room, Navigation and WorkManager.

  • Strong experience with asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow, including proper lifecycle-aware state management.

  • Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL, including networking libraries such as Retrofit, OkHttp, and JSON serialization (Gson/Moshi/kotlinx.serialization).

  • Solid grasp of dependency injection frameworks (Hilt/Dagger) and modular app architecture for scalable, maintainable codebases.

  • Experience with local data persistence (Room, SQLite, DataStore) and offline-first application design.

  • Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and UI tests (JUnit, Espresso, Mockito/MockK) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and testing.

  • Strong understanding of Android security best practices, including secure storage, certificate pinning, and handling of sensitive data.

  • Familiarity with version control (Git), agile development methodologies, code review practices, and performance profiling/optimization tools (Android Profiler, LeakCanary).

  • Level of English โ€“ from Intermediate+ and above.

Desired skills

  • Particularly valuable experience in fintech, banking, or payment-related applications.
