Android Developer

Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for an Android Developer. The Android Developer will design, build, and maintain Android applications that support the company’s maritime operations and client services. Day-to-day tasks include implementing new features, optimizing performance, fixing bugs, and ensuring a consistent, user-friendly experience across devices. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, integrating APIs and backend services, and following best practices for security and maintainability. The Android Developer will participate in code reviews, document technical work, and stay up to date with Android platform updates and tools.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Mobile Application Development and working with Mobile Applications in production environments.

• Candidates should possess skills in Android Development and Android Design to deliver intuitive, responsive user interfaces.

• Candidates should possess skills in Software Development, including object-oriented programming and version control tools.

• Experience with Kotlin and/or Java, Android SDK, RESTful APIs, and JSON data handling is beneficial.

• Understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, performance optimization, and secure coding practices is preferred.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.

• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience, is advantageous.
