Applied AI Engineer

Nashville, TN or Tampa, FL with hybrid set up (2-3 days on sight)

Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Applied AI Engineer with 3 to 5 years of overall experience to actively engage in the engineering craft, taking a hands-on approach to building and supporting high-visibility projects. The role involves applying engineering expertise across multiple programming languages and modern frameworks while building hands-on experience using AI and agentic tools across the engineering lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to engineering solutions that solve complex customer and business problems.

  • Support technical design, development, testing, integrations, and ongoing support.

  • Participate in requirement analysis and component-level design.

  • Maintain code quality, dependencies, architecture, and technical standards.

  • Write high-quality, scalable and supportable code.

  • Participate in code reviews.

  • Support rapid experimentation and AI-built prototypes.

  • Collaborate with product management, experience, and delivery teams.

  • Apply AI and Agentic SSDLC practices.

  • Use AI tools for code generation, review, testing, and documentation.

  • Build domain-specific knowledge and translate business/user needs into technical specifications and code.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, or related discipline.

  • 3–5 years of experience with one or more of:

  • Angular

  • React

  • NodeJS

  • Python

  • C#

  • .NET

  • Java

  • SQL/NoSQL

  • PyTorch

  • TensorFlow

  • LangChain

  • LangGraph

  • 1+ year building AI/ML applications.

  • Hands-on GenAI exposure including:

  • LLM integration

  • OpenAI / Anthropic / open-source models

  • RAG pipelines

  • Prompt engineering

  • Vector databases

  • 1+ year cloud-native engineering experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP.

  • Exposure to Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, or Vertex AI.

  • Understanding of OOP/OOD, data structures, algorithms and engineering practices.

  • Exposure to Agile, DevSecOps, GitHub, SonarQube, MLflow or agentic AI frameworks is a plus.

  • Ability to work in the local office a minimum of 3 days per week
