Assistant Accountant

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the full accounting function of multiple entities. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing company and develop your skills within a fast-paced environment.

We now continue to thrive and grow through iconic businesses including Story Bridge Adventure Climb and Manly Wharf Precinct in Sydney.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation and presentation of monthly management accounts for multiple entities

• Bank Reconciliations for multiple entities

• Reconciliation of suspense accounts, clearing accounts, sales and banking clearing accounts

• Maintenance of fixed asset register/general ledger for multiple entities

• Assist preparation of Budgets and Forecasts

• Monitor and analyse KPIs, financials and operational data

• Assist with the completion of other ad-hoc financial duties as requested by the CFO/FC

• Understand financial and legal purpose for transactions and structures

• Make recommendations to gain efficiencies of the financial processes.

• Continuous improvement of processes and procedures where identified or as directed

• Business Activity statements – preparation & submission to ATO

• Assist with FBT reporting & collation of data for annual FBT returns

What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualification in accounting or studying towards a qualification, with at least 2 years’ experience in a commercial environment

• Previous experience with cloud-based accounting systems (MYOB Acumatica advantageous)

• Solid financial acumen and a knack for commercial accounting

• Strong analytical, technical and excel skills, with a “can do” attitude

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation

• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work autonomously in a fast paced, dynamic environment
