Assistant Accountant

Ultimate Security Australia is a leading Australian security services provider, delivering professional and reliable security solutions to a diverse range of clients nationwide. We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team on a full-time basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to further develop their career within a growing organisation. In this role, you will play an integral part in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, assisting with reporting and compliance activities, and contributing to the overall financial success of the organisation.

Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you will gain valuable exposure to a broad range of accounting functions while developing your technical skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing and reconciling accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts and ensuring accuracy of financial records

• Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and management reports

• Performing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies

• Supporting the month-end and year-end close processes

• Recording journal entries and posting transactions to the appropriate accounts

• Assisting with payroll processing and related compliance matters

• Maintaining organised financial documentation and filing systems

• Liaising with internal departments and external vendors regarding accounting matters

Qualification and Experience

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, with a minimum of two years' relevant accounting experience

• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in numerical work

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment

• Reliability and a proactive approach to problem-solving

• Familiarity with MYOB or other accounting systems is desirable

• Experience in accounts payable and receivable processing is advantageous
