George Consulting is seeking an Azure Devops Engineer to support and advance the USMC Enterprise DevSecOps ecosystem across both engineering and operational domains. This role blends systems engineering, future capability development, sustainment operations, platform reliability, security compliance, and customer onboarding to ensure the Azure Enterprise DevSecOps environment remains modern, stable, secure, and aligned with long-term mission needs. This position provides full-lifecycle technical support from requirements analysis and architecture design to pipeline operations, patching, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Platform Engineering, R&D, and Future Capability Development
Evaluate emerging Azure services, DevSecOps tooling, Kubernetes enhancements, automated security technologies, and cloud‑native architectural patterns.
Engineer reusable Azure components such as IaC modules, Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, GitOps workflows, and automation pipelines.
Prototype new platform features, document engineering findings, and burn down future capability requirements for the USMC Azure Enterprise DevSecOps roadmap.
Lead modernization initiatives including refactoring, upgrades, architectural improvements, and engineering design corrections.
Operational Stability & Platform Sustainment
Monitor, maintain, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure to ensure uptime, resiliency, and performance across enterprise applications.
Support daily operations for Azure services including VMs, storage, networking, ACR, Key Vault, container workloads, and hybrid integrations.
Manage production and pre‑production CI/CD pipelines, resolve operational failures, and maintain pipeline availability.
Perform system administration for Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments, including SCCM troubleshooting and domain integration.
DevSecOps Engineering & Pipeline Automation
Architect, implement, operate, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Advanced Security, CodeQL, Dependabot, SBOM, SAST/DAST, and automated container security tooling.
Develop modular Infrastructure‑as‑Code using Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, and related tools for automated resource creation and lifecycle management.
Engineer and support cloud‑native applications deployed on Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, and hybrid environments.
Security Engineering, Accreditation & Compliance Maintenance
Maintain platform accreditation by applying patches, updates, compliance controls, and configuration changes across Azure and DevSecOps toolchains.
Operate and engineer automated security capabilities including Trellix, Invicti, Anchore, vulnerability scanning, SAST/DAST, container hardening, and RMF-aligned compliance automation.
Review logs, alerts, and analytics from Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and security tools to identify, investigate, and remediate resource or subscription issues.
Customer Onboarding, Support & Cross‑Team Collaboration
Lead customer onboarding into the Enterprise DevSecOps environment, ensuring proper provisioning, RBAC, configuration, documentation, and compliance readiness.
Provide helpdesk and incident support through Remedy, performing root cause analysis and supporting post‑incident reviews.
Collaborate across engineering, operations, security, QA, and stakeholder teams within Agile/SAFe ceremonies and sprint cycles.
Produce documentation including system specifications, diagrams, onboarding guides, engineering prototypes, and audit compliance artifacts.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES AN ACTIVE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE TOP SECRET OR SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE.
Required Qualifications
Active Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree in CS, IT, Engineering, Math, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Security+ (IAT II) or equivalent DoD 8570 certification.
8+ years of experience (Bachelor’s) or 6+ years (Master’s).
Deep experience with Azure cloud environments, DevSecOps pipelines, CI/CD engineering, and operational sustainment.
Strong proficiency with Linux and Windows system administration.
Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, Ansible) and scripting (Azure CLI, PowerShell).
Hands‑on experience with automated security, compliance tools, container security, and cloud‑native observability platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DoD cloud ecosystems or Marine Corps enterprise environments.
Experience designing GitOps pipelines, Helm charts, cloud‑native platform components, and Kubernetes operators.
