Backend Engineer

About The Role

The role owns the design, implementation, and scaling of core backend services and APIs that power high-traffic user-facing products.

You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams to build reliable, low-latency distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable REST and GraphQL APIs using Node.js, Python, or Go

• Architect and optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas using PostgreSQL, Redis, and DynamoDB

• Ensure system reliability, high availability, and low latency across all backend services deployed on AWS or GCP

• Implement comprehensive automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code using Terraform

• Monitor application performance, debug production incidents, and participate in an on-call rotation

• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and actively participate in technical design and code reviews

What We Are Looking For

• 3–6 years of professional backend software engineering experience building distributed systems at scale

• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Python, Node.js, Go) and solid understanding of asynchronous programming

• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), caching layers (Redis), and message queues (Kafka/RabbitMQ)

• Proven experience deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes in cloud environments

• BS or MS in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

• Bonus: Experience with event-driven architectures, GraphQL, and performance profiling of high-throughput services
