Backend Engineer - Up to £80k + Annual Bonus - London (Hybrid)

We’re working with a fast-growing digital gaming company building a highly scalable, mobile-first consumer platform used across multiple international markets.

They develop their technology in-house and operate in a high-volume, real-time environment. They are now looking for a Backend Engineer to join the team permanently, helping to build and optimise scalable, fault-tolerant backend systems that power their platform.

This is a hybrid role based in West London, with 3 days per week in the office

Salary:

Up to £80k + annual bonus

Key areas:

Node.js and TypeScript
Microservices and serverless architectures
AWS cloud infrastructure
PostgreSQL, MySQL and relational database design
Redis, caching and performance optimisation
Integration testing and code quality
Scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems
High-throughput, real-time platforms
System architecture and technical design
Monitoring, observability and production troubleshooting
AI-assisted development and automation

They’re looking for someone who is highly hands-on, strong in backend engineering fundamentals, and comfortable taking ownership of production systems from design and development through to deployment and monitoring.
