Senior Software Engineer ( Node.js, Python, JavaScript )

Location: Dublin – Hybrid

Contract: 6 months initial

Working pattern: 2–3 days per week onsite

Day rate: €550–€650 per day

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer ( Node.js, Python, JavaScript ) to join a technology team delivering modern, cloud-based applications and services.

This is a hands-on development role focused on building robust and scalable back-end systems, APIs and cloud services. You’ll work closely with developers, designers and business stakeholders to deliver applications that support high-volume operational and customer-facing environments.

As the Senior Software Engineer ( Node.js, Python, JavaScript ) you will be responsible for:

• Design, develop and maintain scalable back-end services using Microsoft Azure.

• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and services supporting web and mobile applications.

• Design and work with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Build cloud-native solutions using services such as Azure Functions, Azure App Service, Azure SQL and Service Bus.

• Develop clean, maintainable and well-tested code.

• Implement and maintain unit testing.

• Contribute to technical design decisions and code reviews.

• Build on and improve existing CI/CD pipelines.

• Work with Git/GitHub-based development workflows.

• Collaborate with developers, designers and business stakeholders throughout delivery.

• Produce and maintain technical and API documentation.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years' professional software development experience.

• Strong commercial experience developing back-end web applications and services.

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-native development.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, integrations and microservices/service-based architecture.

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as SQL Server, MySQL, Azure SQL or equivalent.

• Experience with Git and modern source-control workflows.

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience building and deploying scalable web applications.

• Strong understanding of software development and testing best practices.

• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a wider engineering team.

• Good communication skills when working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable

• Experience across AWS or GCP alongside Azure.

• Azure DevOps experience.

• Agile/Scrum delivery experience.

• Relevant cloud or software development certifications.

Contract Details

This is an initial 6-month contract based in Dublin, operating on a hybrid basis with 2–3 days per week onsite.

Rate: €550–€650 per day, depending on experience.
