BI Developer

About the Role:

Flogas Ireland is seeking a BI Developer to join our reporting team and help build the Power BI reports and dashboards that turn certified data into insight for the business. This is suitable for people in an early phase of their data career, working under the guidance of the Senior BI Developer to develop hands-on report development skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design and build of Power BI reports and dashboards, following Flogas's reporting standards under guidance.

• Develop your DAX and Power Query (M) skills, contributing to semantic models under the direction of senior colleagues.

• Work with the business stakeholders, with support, to understand reporting requirements.

• Work with Analytics Engineers to understand certified datasets, flagging any data issues you notice.

• Support report deployment and basic workspace administration within the Power BI service, learning governance practices.

• Help build templates and training materials that support self-service reporting for business users.

• Help monitor report usage, learning how to identify reports that may need refreshing or retiring.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent practical experience, with an interest in BI and data visualisation

• Working knowledge of Power BI, including basic DAX and Power Query (M)

• Good understanding of data visualisation principles

• Working knowledge of SQL

• A keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn from senior developers

• Good communication skills, able to work confidently with colleagues across the business

Desirable

• Experience in an energy, utilities, or regulated industr

• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI's integration with Lakehouse/Direct Lake

• Exposure to Power BI deployment pipelines or version control for BI assets

• Interest in self-service analytics enablement and data literacy

• Progress towards a Microsoft Power BI certification (e.g. PL-300)
