The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented BIM Engineer to develop, coordinate, and maintain Building Information Modeling (BIM) models and digital project information. In this part-time, fully remote role, you will support multidisciplinary project teams by improving model accuracy, identifying design conflicts, and ensuring technical information remains consistent throughout project development.

The ideal candidate combines strong BIM software skills with an understanding of engineering drawings, construction documentation, and model coordination. You will collaborate with architects, structural engineers, MEP specialists, and project stakeholders to support effective design integration and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain accurate 3D BIM models based on design drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

• Coordinate architectural, structural, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) models.

• Perform model reviews and clash detection to identify potential design conflicts and coordination issues.

• Prepare coordinated drawings, schedules, model views, and supporting technical documentation.

• Ensure BIM models follow project standards, naming conventions, and agreed information-management procedures.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to resolve model discrepancies and technical queries.

• Review drawing revisions and incorporate approved design changes into project models.

• Support model quality checks, information consistency, and coordination reporting.

• Maintain organized model files, revision records, and project documentation.

• Identify opportunities to improve modeling efficiency, coordination workflows, and digital project delivery.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in BIM engineering, digital construction, building design, or a related field preferred.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred.

• Practical experience with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit; familiarity with Navisworks is an advantage.

• Understanding of 3D modeling, drawing coordination, clash detection, and construction documentation.

• Familiarity with BIM standards, model coordination processes, and common data environments.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design information.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage priorities and collaborate effectively with distributed project teams.

• Professional certifications are not mandatory; relevant project experience is valued.
