Job description
Business Analyst, ERP Workflow Mapping (Odoo)
One month, full time, on site in Doha. Potential full-time position after.
NEX Solutions is the technology company of Al Sharqi Holding. We build AI systems, command centres, cybersecurity infrastructure and enterprise platforms, and the group's own operating companies are our first deployments.
Al Sharqi Holding runs a portfolio of operating companies across valet, facilities, recruitment, hospitality, trade and more. Mr. Valet, Hi-Wash, IEC, SPM, Spotlight, Infinity, Horses Group, Al Sharqi Office and others across the group. Every one of them works differently, and most of how they work lives in spreadsheets, message threads and the heads of the people who run them.
The group already runs an Odoo environment. Parts of the business sit inside it, parts sit beside it.
Consolidating that onto one platform is a priority for management this year, and it cannot start until somebody has mapped the ground.
That is this job. For one month you write it all down, department by department, company by company. Then you design how it becomes a single Odoo platform the group can run on.
What you would actually do
Sit with the people doing the work. Interview department heads, supervisors and the staff who run the daily process, and watch the process happen where you can. The person who knows how procurement really works is rarely the person whose title says procurement.
Document the current state honestly. Map each department's workflow as it runs today, including the workarounds, the parallel spreadsheets and the steps nobody admits to in a meeting. The undocumented version is the one that matters.
Map it to Odoo. For every process, determine what standard Odoo covers, what needs configuration and what genuinely requires custom development. Be specific about modules, and be honest when the answer is that the process itself should change rather than the software.
Design the future state. Produce the workflow the company should run on, the master data behind it, the roles and permissions around it, and the sequence to get there.
What you would deliver
One pack for each operating company, containing current-state process maps for every department, a gap register with the business cost of each gap, a data inventory of every system and spreadsheet the company depends on, the Odoo mapping process by process, the future-state design including exception paths, master data requirements, a roles and access model, and the integration points with anything that stays outside Odoo.
One consolidated submission at group level, containing the recommended ERP strategy argued from what you found, a standardisation analysis of which processes should be identical across companies and which are genuinely company specific, an architecture recommendation covering multi-company structure and inter-company transactions, a module roadmap with the reasoning behind the sequence, a ranked risk register with mitigations, and an indicative effort estimate so management can budget the build.
This is not documentation for a shelf. What you produce becomes the specification our engineering team builds against.
How the month is structured
Week 1. Orientation and method. Group structure, stakeholder map, review of the existing Odoo environment, documentation standard agreed. Discovery starts on the first two companies. Checkpoint: method and template signed off by management.
Week 2. Discovery at depth. Department interviews and process observation across the remaining companies, with current-state maps drafted as you go. Checkpoint: current-state maps for the majority of companies.
Week 3. Odoo mapping and gaps. Every documented process mapped to modules, configuration or custom development. Future-state workflows designed and validated with the department owners. Checkpoint: company packs reviewed with each department head.
Week 4. Strategy and handover. Consolidation across companies, architecture recommendation, roadmap and risk register, then final presentation to management. Checkpoint: full submission delivered and presented.
Who we are looking for
-Four or more years as a business analyst on ERP implementations, with at least one full cycle from discovery to go-live.
-Hands-on Odoo knowledge. You know what the modules do, where they stop, and when a request should become a configuration rather than a customisation.
-Process mapping discipline. BPMN or an equivalent notation you can defend, applied consistently across a large scope.
-Interviewing skill across seniority. Comfortable with a general manager in the morning and a site supervisor in the afternoon, getting the truth from both.
-Multi-entity experience. You have worked where several companies share a platform without sharing a workflow.
-Writing that survives handover. Documentation another team can build from without you in the room.
-Arabic and English. Much of the operational conversation happens in Arabic.
-Available in Doha for the full month, on site, every working day.
-Preferred Odoo functional certification, or demonstrable depth across Finance, Inventory, Purchase, HR and Project. Experience in services, facilities management, hospitality or fleet operations. Exposure to an Odoo version migration and the module porting that comes with it.
-Data migration planning and master data cleansing on a real project. Familiarity with Qatar labour and commercial practice as it shows up in HR and finance processes. A background that includes both consulting and an in-house role.
What happens after the month
This engagement is structured so both sides can assess fit on real work rather than in an interview. If the submission is strong and the working relationship is right, we intend to convert this into a full-time position leading the group's ERP programme, owning the strategy through implementation and staying with the platform as it grows. That is the outcome we are hoping for.
Engagement terms
Freelance contract. Individual consultants and boutique consultancies are both welcome. One month, full time, five days a week, on site in Doha. This role cannot be done remotely, because the work is in the rooms where the processes happen. Immediate start. Submit your day rate with your application. A confidentiality undertaking is signed before the engagement begins, as you will see how the whole group operates.
