The Data Office is seeking a Business Data Analyst to help improve how business data is defined, governed, and utilized across the organization. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders and data initiatives, helping ensure that critical business information is accurate, well understood, and supports effective decision-making.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional interested in business operations, data, governance, risk management, process improvement, and analytics.
The successful candidate will partner with business teams to improve data quality, document business information, support governance processes, analyze business requirements, and help drive adoption of enterprise data capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Business Partnership & Analysis

Partner with business stakeholders to understand their processes, reporting needs, and data challenges.

Gather, document, and analyze business requirements.

Help translate business needs into practical data and process solutions.

Support cross-functional initiatives focused on improving business data and reporting.
Data Governance & Data Quality
-
Assist in documenting business definitions, data ownership, and data lineage.

Support data quality monitoring, issue identification, and remediation efforts.

Help identify data inconsistencies, control gaps, and opportunities for improvement.

Participate in governance activities supporting critical business data.
Process Improvement
-
Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and controls.

Support workflow design and implementation efforts.

Help document and maintain business procedures and operating practices.

Assist with implementation of new data management and governance processes.
Reporting & Analytics Support

Develop reports, dashboards, presentations, and business insights.

Help business stakeholders understand and use available data resources.
Stakeholder Engagement

Collaborate with business users, data stewards, risk partners, technology teams, and other stakeholders.

Support user training, communication, and adoption activities.

Participate in working groups, meetings, and project initiatives.

Build strong relationships across business and support functions.
Qualifications
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Management, or a related field.

0-3 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, consulting, or related disciplines.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other business productivity tools.
Preferred

Experience with reporting, analytics, or data-related projects.

Exposure to financial services, banking, risk management, or corporate functions.

Familiarity with data governance, data quality, or process improvement concepts.

Experience with Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools.

Knowledge of Agile, project management, or business process improvement methodologies.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely-related discipline, or an equivalent combination of formal education and experience

The typical base pay range for this role is as follows:

New York / New Jersey: $ 86-119K
-
Non - New York/New Jersey: $80-123K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation. Our hybrid work schedule is four days on-site and work remotely one day per week.
