Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced

Power BI Technical Consultant

with strong expertise in

Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, data modelling, data source integration, dashboard development, and KPI reporting

.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and maintaining enterprise Power BI solutions that transform business data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development

• Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using

  Power BI Desktop

  .

• Publish, manage, and maintain reports and dashboards in

  Power BI Service

  .

• Develop executive dashboards, operational reports, and business performance analytics.

• Implement effective data visualization and reporting solutions based on business requirements.

DAX Development

• Develop complex

  DAX measures, calculated columns, and calculated tables

  .

• Optimize DAX queries and calculations for improved report performance.

• Implement business logic and KPIs using DAX.

• Troubleshoot and enhance existing DAX calculations.

Data Modelling

• Design and develop

  tabular and multidimensional data models

  .

• Build efficient star-schema and dimensional models where applicable.

• Define relationships, hierarchies, calculated measures, and business metrics.

• Optimize data models for performance and scalability.

Data Source Integration

• Connect Power BI with multiple enterprise data sources.

• Integrate and transform data from databases, applications, files, and other business systems.

• Develop reliable data integration and refresh processes.

• Troubleshoot data connectivity, refresh, and integration issues.

Dashboard & KPI Development

• Translate business requirements into effective dashboards and analytical solutions.

• Develop and maintain

  KPIs, metrics, scorecards, and performance dashboards

  .

• Ensure dashboards provide accurate and meaningful business insights.

• Implement appropriate visualizations based on business requirements.

Power BI Service Administration

• Publish and manage Power BI reports, datasets, dashboards, and workspaces.

• Configure scheduled data refreshes and monitor refresh activities.

• Support workspace and report lifecycle management.

• Apply appropriate access and sharing controls.

Performance Optimization

• Analyze and optimize Power BI report and dashboard performance.

• Optimize DAX queries and data models.

• Identify bottlenecks in data loading, modelling, and visualization.

• Ensure scalable and responsive reporting solutions.

Requirements & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work with business users and stakeholders to gather reporting requirements.

• Translate functional requirements into technical Power BI solutions.

• Collaborate with data engineers, developers, analysts, and business teams.

• Provide technical guidance and support to Power BI users.

Documentation & Support

• Prepare technical documentation for Power BI solutions.

• Document data models, reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data sources.

• Troubleshoot production issues and provide technical support.

• Maintain and enhance existing Power BI reporting solutions.
