Job Description

Join the Catering team at Ramsay Clinic Macarthur as a casual Chef, where you will play an important role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals for our patients, staff and visitors. This position has the potential to become permanent part-time.

Working within a supportive and collaborative kitchen team, you will contribute to the smooth day-to-day operation of the kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and safety.

About You

You are a passionate and reliable Chef who takes pride in preparing quality meals and working as part of a busy team. You bring a strong focus on food safety, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals in accordance with established menus, recipes and dietary requirements

• Ensure meals are prepared to a high standard of quality, taste and presentation

• Assist with food preparation across different areas of the kitchen

• Follow food safety, hygiene and infection prevention procedures at all times

• Ensure appropriate food handling, storage and temperature control practices are maintained

• Assist with stock control, ordering and appropriate storage of food supplies

• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment

• Operate kitchen equipment safely and appropriately

• Work collaboratively with Catering team members to ensure meals are prepared and delivered on time

• Support the provision of meals that meet individual patient dietary requirements

• Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain a strong focus on quality and customer service

You Will Also Bring

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Chef

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar environment

• Sound knowledge of food preparation, food safety and hygiene practices

• Ability to follow recipes, menus and dietary requirements accurately, including allergen management

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to lead in a busy kitchen environment

• A reliable, positive and professional approach to work

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality, safety and presentation

• Willingness to work a flexibly roster Morning/Afternoon and Weekends
