Chemical Sales Engineer โ€” Construction, Plastics & SME Industrial Segments

  • Location: Doha, Qatar (with regular travel across Qatar's industrial zones โ€” Ras Bufontas, UmmAl Houl, Birkat AlAwamer, Salwa Industrial Area, Industrial Area Doha)

The role is responsible for driving revenue growth by selling and technically supporting a portfolio of construction chemicals, polymer and plastics additives, and specialty industrial chemicals to contractors, precast/ready-mix producers, plastic converters, coating manufacturers, and small-to-medium industrial (SME) accounts across Qatar.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Identify, develop, and manage a customer pipeline across construction , plastics processing, and SME manufacturing accounts.

  • Conduct technical sales calls and site visits to present product benefits, resolve formulation or application issues, and support customer trials.

  • Prepare and negotiate commercial offers, quotations, and contracts, coordinating pricing with management and ensuring alignment with cost, margin, and credit policies.

  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, project consultants, precast/RMC plants, plastic converters, and procurement teams to secure repeat and specification-driven business.

  • Monitor competitor activity, pricing trends, and substitute products; recommend productor supplier adjustments to stay competitive.

  • Coordinate with technical/application teams and suppliers to troubleshoot customer complaints, product performance issues, or non-conformance.

  • Track shipments, coordinate with logistics/procurement on import lead times, and manage customer expectations on delivery given Qatar's port and customs clearance timelines.

  • Prepare regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and market intelligence summaries for management.

  • Ensure adherence to HSE, MSDS/SDS handling, and Qatari regulatory requirements(Ministry of Commerce, Kahramaa , Ashghal specifications where applicable) for chemical products sold into construction projects.

  • Follow up on payments and manage receivables in coordination with finance.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer/Materials Science, or related field

Experience: 3โ€“7 years in chemical/industrial sales, preferably construction chemicals, plastics/polymer additives, or specialty chemical distribution in Qatar or GCC.

Technical Knowledge: Understanding of admixtures, waterproofing systems, adhesives/sealants, plastic resins/additives, and relevant ASTM/EN/Qatar Construction Specifications (QCS)

Languages: Fluent English required; Arabic and/or Hindi/Malayalam advantageous for site-level communication

Licensing : Valid Qatar driving license; willingness to travel across industrial and project sites

Software : Proficient in MS Office/Excel; ERP or CRM experience (SAP, Salesforce, or similar) a plus

Preferred Additional Experience :

  • Existing network among Qatari contractors, precast/RMC producers, plastic converters, or SME manufacturers.

  • Familiarity with major construction chemical or masterbatch brands and their local competitive landscape.

  • Experience preparing technical submittals for Ashghal, Kahramaa, or Qatar Rail/Metro-linked projects.

Pay: From QAR1.00 per month

Work Location: In person
