Cloud Engineer

Role Description

This part-time remote Cloud Engineer role at Agencia del Cine y el Audiovisual del Uruguay focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure to support audiovisual and media-related applications and services. The Cloud Engineer will configure and manage cloud environments, monitor system performance, ensure security and compliance, and optimize resource usage and costs. Daily responsibilities include collaborating with development and production teams to deploy applications, automating infrastructure and deployment processes, and troubleshooting issues across cloud services, Linux servers, and databases. The role also involves documenting architectures and procedures, participating in technical planning, and providing guidance on best practices for cloud adoption and scalability.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Cloud Computing and Infrastructure skills to design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable environments.

• Candidates should possess solid Linux and Databases skills to manage servers, perform tuning, and ensure reliable data storage and retrieval.

• Candidates should possess Software Development skills to automate workflows, build deployment scripts, and integrate services using modern programming and scripting languages.

• Candidates should possess experience with monitoring, logging, and security practices in cloud environments, including IAM, backups, and disaster recovery.

• Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting.

• Relevant experience with major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization or orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
