Cloud Engineer

Role Description

This part-time remote Cloud Engineer role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure that supports the organization’s applications and services. The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for provisioning and configuring cloud resources, managing deployments, and monitoring performance, reliability, and security. Day-to-day tasks include automating workflows, optimizing resource usage and costs, troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating with software and product teams to ensure scalable, resilient solutions. The role also involves maintaining documentation, following best practices for cloud security and compliance, and continuously improving the cloud environment based on evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Strong Software Development skills for building, integrating, and automating cloud services and workflows.

• Hands-on Infrastructure experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable and secure systems.

• Proficiency in Cloud Computing platforms (such as AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related services for storage, networking, and security.

• Solid Linux skills for managing servers, scripting, and troubleshooting in cloud environments.

• Experience working with Databases, including configuration, performance tuning, and data security in the cloud.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and collaborate clearly with distributed teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience in security best practices, monitoring tools, and incident response within cloud environments is highly beneficial.
