Scope of Project:

The NYS Department of Labor is seeking an Expert Cloud Engineer to support the UISIm (Unemployment Insurance Service Improvement) project. The selected consultant will support operational activities, enhancements, debugging, cloud-native application deployments, infrastructure automation, cloud platform administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and cloud optimization utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based systems in GCP.
Build and deploy cloud-native applications using Cloud Build and Cloud Deploy.
Build and manage the GCP foundation platform.
Engineer solutions using Terraform Infrastructure as Code.
Integrate, configure, deploy and manage cloud services.
Configure VM and Cloud SQL backups and restores.
Build and support CI/CD and continuous testing activities.
Monitor cloud systems and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Optimize cloud resource utilization and costs.
Mentor State staff in cloud technologies.

Required Qualifications:

84 months of experience designing, developing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining cloud-based systems in GCP.
84 months of experience implementing, automating, and administering GCP cloud infrastructure.
36 months of experience using CI/CD pipeline technologies.
36 months of experience using GitHub repository.
24 months of experience using Prisma Cloud, Tenable, OS Patching/upgrading.
