JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Construction Data Analyst to turn project and financial data into reporting that helps our teams make better decisions. This role owns our Power BI reporting environment and works directly with data from our Viewpoint Vista ERP system. The position reports to the IT Coordinator and works closely with procurement, project management, accounting, human resources, and our executive team. This position is 100% on-site.
CORE DUTIES:
Data Analytics and Reporting

Build, maintain, and improve Power BI reports and data models covering job cost, labor, equipment, and overall project performance.

Extract, model, and validate data from Viewpoint Vista and systems using SQL and Power Query.

Deliver recurring and ad hoc analysis for project managers, superintendents, accounting, human resources, and executive leadership.

Investigate cost and budget variances and explain what is driving them in plain, practical terms.

Support HR, safety, and equipment reporting needs alongside project reporting.

Partner with all areas to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for improvement.
Data Quality and Process Improvement

Identify gaps, errors, and inconsistencies in source data and work with the responsible teams to correct them.

Document report logic, data sources, and business definitions so reporting is repeatable and auditable.

Automate recurring manual reporting and data collection using tools such as Power Query, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, and SharePoint.

Identify and implement opportunities to leverage AI technologies to further enhance analysis and productivity to drive better business decisions.

Train and support report users so teams can answer routine questions on their own.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
-
2+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or similar role.

Strong proficiency with a business intelligence platform such as Power BI (preferred), Tableau, or comparable.

Strong proficiency in Excel.
-
Working knowledge of SQL and relational data concepts, including joins, keys, and table relationships.

Demonstrated ability to explain analytical findings clearly to non-technical audiences.

Hands-on experience using AI and agentic tools (such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or workflow automation platforms like Power Automate) to reduce repetitive work โ including document drafting, records summarization, data extraction, and multi-step task automation โ along with comfort experimenting with new tools.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

Experience with construction, manufacturing, or other project-based cost accounting.

Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, the Power Platform, or comparable cloud data tooling.

Experience in database management.

Experience working with an ERP system such as Viewpoint Vista, Procore, or similar.
