Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, reviewing project requirements, analyzing drawings and specifications, obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations, and supporting the preparation of bids and proposals.

The ideal candidate has strong numerical and analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and tender documents.

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects, materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracted works.

• Perform quantity take-offs and verify measurements from drawings and project documents.

• Obtain, evaluate, and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.

• Prepare bills of quantities, cost breakdowns, pricing summaries, and tender submissions.

• Analyze historical project costs, market prices, and relevant cost data to improve estimating accuracy.

• Identify potential cost risks, exclusions, assumptions, and areas of uncertainty.

• Coordinate with procurement, project management, engineering, and other departments to ensure accurate pricing.

• Review changes in scope and prepare cost estimates for variations and change orders.

• Maintain accurate estimating databases, cost records, and pricing information.

• Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or project requirements.

• Participate in tender clarification meetings and provide commercial/estimating support as required.

• Ensure estimates are completed accurately and submitted within required deadlines.

• Perform other estimating and commercial duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or any related field preferred.

• [2–5] years of experience in cost estimating, quantity surveying, construction, engineering, manufacturing, or a related industry.

• Strong understanding of estimating principles, cost analysis, and pricing methodologies.

• Experience with quantity take-offs, BOQs, drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Experience with estimating, ERP, or project management software is an advantage.

• Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications.

• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in [construction / fit-out / civil works / interiors]

• Knowledge of local market rates, supplier pricing, and subcontractor costs.

• Professional certification in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or a related discipline is a plus.

• Experience preparing competitive tenders and commercial proposals.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
