About the Role

Practical Quality Management Systems (PQMS) is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of cybersecurity experience; with a focus on creating and implementing security measures for our information systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data.

  • Anticipate vulnerabilities, threats, and security breaches and design appropriate security controls to mitigate risks.

  • Conduct regular security audits to identify potential issues or breaches.

  • Maintain current knowledge of trends in security standards, technologies, threats, and compliance requirements.

  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure security best practices are in place and adhered to.

  • Coordinate incident response plans, including steps to minimize the impact and conduct post-event analyses to identify causes and corrective actions.

  • Provide technical and strategic guidance to IT leadership and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a cybersecurity role.

  • In-depth understanding of firewalls, proxies, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), antivirus solutions, and Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS).

  • Familiarity with web-related technologies, including web applications, web services, and service-oriented architectures, as well as network and web-related protocols.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of current security principles, techniques, and protocols.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
