About the Role

Practical Quality Management Systems (PQMS) is seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Engineer to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of cybersecurity experience; with a focus on creating and implementing security measures for our information systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement security measures to protect computer systems, networks, and data.
Anticipate vulnerabilities, threats, and security breaches and design appropriate security controls to mitigate risks.
Conduct regular security audits to identify potential issues or breaches.
Maintain current knowledge of trends in security standards, technologies, threats, and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with the IT department to ensure security best practices are in place and adhered to.
Coordinate incident response plans, including steps to minimize the impact and conduct post-event analyses to identify causes and corrective actions.
Provide technical and strategic guidance to IT leadership and other key stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.

A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a cybersecurity role.
In-depth understanding of firewalls, proxies, Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), antivirus solutions, and Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS).
Familiarity with web-related technologies, including web applications, web services, and service-oriented architectures, as well as network and web-related protocols.
Comprehensive knowledge of current security principles, techniques, and protocols.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform effectively under pressure.
Exceptional communication skills, with the capability to articulate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
